Regional Mexican Albums
Regional Mexican Albums is a genre-specific record chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine in the United States. The chart was established in June 1985 and originally listed the top twenty-five best-selling albums of mariachi, tejano, norteño, and grupero, which are all sub genres of regional Mexican music. The genre is considered by musicologist as being "the biggest-selling Latin music genre in the United States", and represented the fastest ever growing Latin genre in the United States after tejano music entered the mainstream market during its 1990s golden age. Originally, ''Billboard'' based their methodology on sales surveys it sent out to record stores across the United States and by 1991 began monitoring point-of-sales compiled from Nielsen Soundscan. Musicologist and critics have since criticized the sales data compiled from Nielsen, finding that the company only provides sales from larger music chains than from small shops that specialized in Latin music—wher ...

Conjunto Atardecer
Conjunto Atardecer is a regional Mexican band that specializes in the duranguense genre. History Conjunto Atardecer formed in Santa Maria del Oro, Durango, in September 2000. The idea of forming the group stemmed from the concerns of three young students who were beginning to switch on some of the school festivals, which were much in demand, as well as private events. Seeing that many people liked the band, they were asked increasingly to perform at private events. They then decided to invite two more members, thus reinforcing musically. They began to rehearse, but not yet by the name that would identify them in their presentations. It was then that they had the idea of calling themselves "Conjunto Atardecer"; honoring that afternoon when the five came together for the first time. From its inception, the group began to grow in popularity, which led them to record their first album entitled "Con Todo el Corazón" ("From the Heart"). It held in Durango, and with very good public ...

Los Creadorez Del Pasito Duranguense De Alfredo Ramírez
Los Creadorez is a Regional Mexican band based in Chicago, Illinois, United States, and led by Alfredo Ramírez Corral. History In 2006, alongside co-founder Ismael Mijarez, Corral put together one of the first stateside Duranguense bands, and achieved great success. Los Creadorez del Pasito Duranguense was created when Corral and Mijares left Montéz de Durango, taking most of its members and only leaving the Terrazas family in the band. DISA Latin Music released two singles, "Que Levante La Mano" and "Cada Vez Que Pienso En Ti", both of which made appearances on the ''Billboard'' Regional Mexican charts. Los Creadorez interpreted their decade of success and fans' acceptance of their new package as a sign of Duranguense’s staying power. As the genre rounded its first ten years, sales increased and interest arose far outside the city of Chicago, and Duranguense artists looked to the veterans for direction. Corral and Mijarez – having been around as long as anyone – found th ...
