Gerli Padar
Gerli Padar (born 6 November 1979) is an Estonian singer and actress. She represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. She is the sister of Tanel Padar, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001 for Estonia. Career Padar has performed in several hit Estonian musicals including her starring roles as Sally in ''Cabaret'', as Florence in ''Chess'' and as Lotte in ''Lotte, the Detective''. As of 2011, she has released one solo album. Padar represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song " Partners in Crime" which failed to qualify for the final. In 2018, she competed in Eesti Laul 2018 Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song "La forza" written by Mihkel Mattisen, Timo Vendt, Ksenia Kuchukova and Elina Nechayeva. Haljala
Haljala is a small borough ( et, alevik) in Lääne-Viru County, in northern Estonia. It's located about 10 km northwest of the town of Rakvere, by the Tallinn–Narva (Tallinn–Saint Petersburg) road (part of E20). Haljala is the administrative centre of Haljala Parish. As of 2011 Census, the settlement's population was 1,084. Haljala was first mentioned in 1241. One of the main sights in Haljala is Haljala church. It was initially built on an important crossing of Tallinn–Narva road with a road from Rakvere to the northern coast, particularly to the Toolse harbour. The first church was wooden and was built in the 13th century. The present stone church was built in the end of 14th century. Estonia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 27 times since making its debut in 1994. Its first appearance would have taken place in 1993 but a qualification round was installed for seven former Eastern Bloc countries hoping to make their debut in the contest, with Estonia failing to qualify. Estonia has won the contest once, in 2001. Estonia's first participation in 1994 was unsuccessful, finishing 24th (out of 25). Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Leto svet" written by Priit Pajusaar, Tarmo Leinatamm, Hannes Võrno, Peeter Oja and Glen Pilvre. The song was performed by the group Kreisiraadio. The Estonian broadcaster Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR) organised the national final ''Eurolaul 2008'' in order to select the Estonian entry for the 2008 contest in Belgrade, Serbia. Ten songs competed in the national final and the winner was selected over two rounds of public voting. In the first round, the top three were selected to qualify to the superfinal. was an Estonian comedy act, made up of Hannes Võrno, Peeter Oja and Tarmo Leinatamm. They have been around since 1993 with radio and TV sketch shows. Their sketches have introduced the hazardous sport of stoneball, the character of the arrogant man with a flat hat and that of Alev Ström, the Estonian immigrant in Sweden talking nonsense Swedish much in the same way that their Eurovision Song Contest 2008 submission "Leto svet" (''Summer Light'') uses nonsense Serbian language, Serbian (along with Finnish language, Finnish and German language, German). Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song "Through My Window" written by Pearu Paulus, Ilmar Laisaar, Alar Kotkas and Jana Hallas. The song was performed by Sandra Oxenryd. The Estonian broadcaster Eesti Televisioon (ETV) organised the national final ''Eurolaul 2006'' in order to select the Estonian entry for the 2006 contest in Athens, Greece.
