Gericom
Gericom was an Austrian computer equipment manufacturer, based in Linz, Upper Austria. The company was bought by Quanmax, Inc and subsequently converted to Quanmax AG. History The company was founded in 1990 by Hermann Oberlehner and went public as ''Gericom AG'' in 2000. Gericom products were initially sold via chains such as Media Markt and Saturn. In 1998 a webshop was established, and later Gericom products were also sold in supermarkets such as Aldi, Hofer and Lidl. The company was mostly popular in German-speaking countries of Europe. A range of Gericom PC and laptops have been marketed for a few years via Aldi in England, high specification and a long support offer, the laptops are with Intel Centrino mobile technology. Saturn is a German chain of electronics stores in Germany. With Media Markt it constitutes Media-Saturn Holding, owned by the retail trade company Ceconomy, which was spin-off from Metro Group in 2017. As of December 2021, there are 137 Saturn stores in Germany and 2 in Luxembourg. The Saturn store in Hamburg is the largest electronics store in the world. Centrino is a brand name of Intel Corporation which represents its Wi-Fi and WiMAX wireless computer networking adapters. Previously the same brand name was used by the company as a platform-marketing initiative. The change of the meaning of the brand name occurred on January 7, 2010.
