Gerhard Erasmus
Merwe Gerhard Erasmus (born 11 April 1995) is a Namibian cricketer, and the current captain of the Namibia cricket team. Career Erasmus first played at senior level for Namibia in February 2011, aged 15, against a touring Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) side. He made his international and first-class debut for Namibia against Ireland in September 2011 in the 2011–2013 ICC Intercontinental Cup, and at the age of 16, became the youngest player in the team's history. He was named in Namibia's squad for the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. Erasmus was named in the Namibia under-19s squad for the 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Australia. He captained the team at the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two
2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was a cricket tournament that took place in February 2018 in Namibia. The United Arab Emirates won the tournament, after beating Nepal by 7 runs in the final. Canada and Namibia finished third and fourth respectively and remained in Division Two. Oman and Kenya finished fifth and sixth respectively and were both relegated to Division Three. Following Kenya's last-place finish in the tournament, their captain Rakep Patel and their coach Thomas Odoyo both resigned. Ugandan Cricket Team In Namibia In 2021–22
The Uganda cricket team toured Namibia in April 2022 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches and two 50-over matches. The venue for all of the matches was the United Ground in Windhoek. The tour was a repeat of Uganda's visit in April 2021, when Namibia swept both the T20I series and the 50-over series. Ahead of the matches against Uganda, the Namibians hosted Ireland Wolves for a three-match Twenty20 series (winning 2–1) and a five-match List A 50-over series (drawn 2–2). 2022 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series (round 9)
The 2022 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series was the 9th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament that took place in the United Arab Emirates in March 2022. Originally scheduled to take place in December 2021, it was moved to March 2022 due to fixtures impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic being rearranged. The tri-nation series was contested between Namibia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates cricket teams, with the matches played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures. The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 formed part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The series also includes an additional ODI match, between Namibia and Oman. The 2019 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament held during October and November 2019 in the United Arab Emirates to determine which teams would qualify for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament. The six teams finishing highest in the qualifier tournament joined Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the first group stage of the 2020 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
