Ger O'Keeffe
Ger O'Keeffe (born 1952 in Tralee, County Kerry) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for Austin Stack's and at senior level for the Kerry county team between 1973 and 1982. He is currently a selector with the Kerry senior football team. Playing career Schools O'Keeffe was part of the St Brendan's College, Killarney side that won the Munster Colleges Corn Uí Mhuirí and Hogan Cup in 1969. Underage In 1970 O'Keeffe was part of the Kerry minor team that won the Munster Minor Football Championship after beating Cork in the final. Kerry later qualified for the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, where they lost out to Galway after a replay. Senior O'Keeffe was Kerry captain in 1977 when Kerry lost to Dublin. Austin Stacks
Austin Stacks is a hurling and Gaelic football club based in Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. Founded in 1917, the club has more All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals and GAA All-Stars than any other Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in Ireland. History Origins Founded in 1917, the club is named after Austin Stack, Irish revolutionary and captain of the All-Ireland winning Kerry Gaelic football team of 1904. All-Ireland Under 21 Football Championship
The GAA Football Under-20 All-Ireland Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the EirGrid GAA Football Under-20 All-Ireland Championship) is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in Ireland. The championship was contested as the All-Ireland Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2017 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2018. The final, usually held in August, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during the summer months, and the results determine which team receives the Clarke Cup. Dual player or dual star is a term used in Hiberno-English to describe someone who competes in multiple sports — for example, in Victorian Ireland, cricket and hurling. The term today in Gaelic games typically describes a male player who plays both Gaelic football and hurling or, if a female player, a player of ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. Denis 'Ogie' Moran
Denis "Ogie" Moran (born 16 January 1956 in Ballybunion, County Kerry) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer and manager. He played football with his local club Beale, his divisional side Shannon Rangers and also at senior level for the Kerry county team between 1975 and 1987. Early life Denis 'Ogie' Moran was born in Ballybunion, County Kerry in 1956. Born into a family that had a keen interest in Gaelic games, Moran's father instilled a love of the games in his son by bringing him to matches every weekend. In 1962 he was only six years-old when he travelled to Croke Park as the mascot to the Kerry team that captured the All-Ireland title. Moran was educated at the local national school and later boarded at the famous Franciscan College in Gormanston, County Meath.
