Georgia State Route 356
State Route 356 (SR 356) is a east–west state highway located in the northeast part of the U.S. state of Georgia. Its routing is located within portions of White and Habersham counties. Virtually the entire route is contained within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. SR 356 used to travel farther to the southwest, since it contained what is the entire standalone section of SR 75 Alternate (SR 75 Alt.). The roadway was built in the early 1960s, with its original segment being designated as SR 356 by the middle of the decade. During the early to mid 1970s, the current segment was designated as part of the route. During the early part of the next decade, the original segment was redesignated as part of SR 75 Alt. Robertstown is an unincorporated community in White County, Georgia, White County, in the U.S. state of Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia. History A post office called Robertstown was established in 1903, and remained in operation until 1969. The community was named after Charles Roberts, the original owner of the town site. The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Robertstown as a town in 1913. The town's municipal charter was repealed in 1921. Unicoi State Park
Unicoi State Park & Lodge is a 1,050-acre (4.25 km2) state park (est. in 1954) located immediately north-northeast of Helen, Georgia in the northeastern portion of the state. The centerpiece of the park is Unicoi Lake on Smith Creek. The park is especially popular in October, when the autumn leaves in the forest change colors. ''Unicoi'' is a name derived from the Cherokee language. Entry to the park is from Georgia 356, just off of Georgia State Route 75 (North Main Street in Helen). Georgia 75 Alt allows visitors coming from the south via Cleveland, Georgia to bypass the massive traffic jams on 75 through the town during weekends, holidays, and Oktoberfest. Cleveland is a city in White County, Georgia, located northeast of Atlanta and southeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Its population was 3,410 at the 2010 census (up from 1,907 in 2000). It is the county seat of White County.
