State Route 208 (SR 208) is a state highway located in the west-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It runs east from a point between Columbus and Hamilton. It passes through Harris County, Talbot County, and Taylor County. Route description SR 208 begins at an intersection with US 27/ SR 1, south-southeast of Hamilton. It heads southeast to Waverly Hall, where it intersects US 27 Alternate/ SR 85 (Warm Springs Road). Northeast of Waverly Hall, it enters Talbot County and meets SR 36. Hamilton, Georgia
Hamilton is a city in, and the county seat of Harris County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Columbus, Georgia-Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,680 at the 2020 census, up from 307 at the 2000 census. As of 2020 the population had risen to an estimated 1780. History Hamilton was founded in 1827 as seat of the newly formed Harris County. It was incorporated as a town in 1828 and as a city in 1903. The city was named for U.S. Secretary of the Navy and governor of South Carolina Paul Hamilton (1762-1816). The January, 1912 alleged lynching of a black woman and three black men in Hamilton attracted national attention from the press and widespread outrage. State Route 315 (SR 315) is a east-west state highway in the west-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway travels from SR 219 at Goat Rock Road in southwestern Harris County to SR 208 in Olive Branch, west of Talbotton, in west-central Talbot County. Route description SR 315 begins at an intersection with SR 219 in Piney Grove, in rural southwestern Harris County. At this intersection, the roadway continues to the southwest as Goat Rock Road. Pine Mountain is a town in Harris and Meriwether counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,304, up from 1,141 at the 2000 census. State Route 22 (SR 22) is a state highway that travels southwest-to-northeast in an eastern arc through portions of Muscogee, Talbot, Taylor, Upson, Crawford, Bibb, Jones, Baldwin, Hancock, Taliaferro, Oglethorpe, and Madison counties in the western and west-central parts of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway connects the Alabama state line in Columbus, across the state line from Phenix City, Alabama, to Comer, via Macon and Milledgeville. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. Concurrent numbering can become very common in jurisdictions that allow it.
