Georgia State Route 116
State Route 116 (SR 116) is a state highway that runs west-to-east through portions of Harris and Talbot counties in the west-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. Route description SR 116 begins at an intersection with SR 219, west of Hamilton, in Harris County. This intersection also marks the southern terminus of SR 103. Almost immediately is an interchange with Interchange 185 (I-185; Chet Atkins Parkway). In Hamilton is a very brief concurrency with US 27/ SR 1 (Old College Street). Northeast of here is Pine Mountain Valley, where the road intersects the southern terminus of SR 354. SR 116 travels to the east into the town of Shiloh. There, it begins a concurrency with US 27 Alternate/ SR 85 Alternate to the south. Just southeast of that intersection, the two routes run along the Harris–Talbot county line for a short while. Hamilton, Georgia
Hamilton is a city in, and the county seat of Harris County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Columbus, Georgia-Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,680 at the 2020 census, up from 307 at the 2000 census. As of 2020 the population had risen to an estimated 1780. History Hamilton was founded in 1827 as seat of the newly formed Harris County. It was incorporated as a town in 1828 and as a city in 1903. The city was named for U.S. Secretary of the Navy and governor of South Carolina Paul Hamilton (1762-1816). The January, 1912 alleged lynching of a black woman and three black men in Hamilton attracted national attention from the press and widespread outrage. Dusky Crutchfield, Eugene Harrington, Burrell Hardaway, and Johnnie Moore had been held for questioning in the murder of a white landowner. They had never even been arrested. Pine Mountain is a town in Harris and Meriwether counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,304, up from 1,141 at the 2000 census. The Harris County portion of Pine Mountain is part of the Columbus, GA- AL Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the small portion that extends into Meriwether County is part of the Atlanta-Sandy Springs- Roswell Metropolitan Statistical Area. State Route 41 (SR 41) is a state highway that runs south-to-north through portions of Calhoun, Randolph, Terrell, Webster, Marion, Talbot, Meriwether, and Coweta counties in the southwestern and west-central parts of the U.S. state of Georgia. The route connects the Morgan area to Moreland, via Buena Vista, Manchester, Warm Springs, and Greenville. Shiloh is a city on the northeastern edge of Harris County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Columbus, Georgia–Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 402. History A post office called Shiloh was established in 1874. State Route 354 (SR 354) is a , arc-shaped state highway located entirely within Harris County in the west-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It starts out in a north-northeasterly direction and curves to a westerly direction. This highway was built in the early 1960s, on the same alignment as it travels today.
