Summerville is a city and the county seat of Chattooga County, Georgia, United States. The population was 4,534 at the 2010 census. History Summerville was founded in 1838 as the seat of the newly formed Chattooga County. It was incorporated as a town in 1839 and as a city in 1909. Northwest Georgia
Northwest Georgia is a region of the state of Georgia in the United States. It includes 12 counties (listed in the section below), which at the 2010 census had a combined population of 753,032. State Route 68 (SR 68) is a state highway in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. The western terminus of the highway is at an intersection with SR 75 slightly northeast of Albertville. The highway continues until it reaches the Georgia state line becoming Georgia State Route 114 (SR 114). Route description SR 68 begins at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains northeast of Albertville. There are numerous curves along the highway as it travels through DeKalb County. The highway maintains a generally eastward trajectory between Albertville and Collinsville. Lyerly, Georgia
Lyerly is a town in Chattooga County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town had a population of 454. History A post office called Lyerly has been in operation since 1889, when a small town began to develop around a depot constructed by the Chattanooga, Rome and Columbus Railroad. The post office was moved from the nearby town of Melville, which had gone bankrupt that same year. The new town, which incorporated in 1891, may have been named for Charles A. Lyerly, a banker from Tennessee who had made several real estate investments in the area. Geography Lyerly is located in southern Chattooga County at (34.403717, -85.406474). A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing.
