Georgia Satellites (album)
''Georgia Satellites'' is the first album released by the Georgia Satellites. It contains their biggest hit, "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" (which reached No. 2 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, behind Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer"), and another minor hit, "Battleship Chains," written by Terry Anderson. It also contains a cover of "Every Picture Tells a Story," written by Rod Stewart and Ron Wood. Most of the other songs were written by lead singer/rhythm guitarist Dan Baird, except "Red Light," which he co-wrote with Neill Bogan, and "Can't Stand the Pain," written by lead guitarist Rick Richards, who also takes lead vocal on the tune. The album was a commercial success and was certified Gold by the RIAA in February 1987 and then Platinum on August of the same year. The band would release two more studio albums after this one, but none featured a song with nearly the radio and MTV success as "Keep Your Hands to Yourself," and the band finally split in 1990. Terry Randall Anderson (born December 25, 1956) is an American musician. Anderson is a drummer, vocalist and songwriter from North Carolina. He was a member of local bands the Woods and the Fabulous Knobs. Kent Music Report
The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts. Before the Kent Report, ''Go-Set'' magazine published weekly Top-40 Singles from 1966, and Album charts from 1970 until the magazine's demise in August 1974. Atlantic Studios was the recording studio of Atlantic Records. Although this recording studio was located at 1841 Broadway (at the corner of 60th Street), in New York City, Atlantic Recording Studios was initially located at 234 West 56th Street from November 1947 until mid-1956. When the Shorty Rogers and His Giants disc of 33.33 rpm called '' Martians Come Back!'' was issued in August 1956, the address of Atlantic Recording Studios had relocated to 157 W 57th Street. They provide production services such as audio mastering, vinyl cutting and enhanced CD and DVD production. Howie Weinberg is an American audio mastering engineer with over 2,257 mastering credits, three TEC Awards, 21 Grammy Awards, two Juno Awards, and one Mercury Prize. Career Weinberg mastered Herbie Hancock's 1983 album ''Future Shock''. Other mastering works include the Beastie Boys' ''Licensed to Ill'' and Nirvana's ''Nevermind''. Weinberg began working in the mail room at Masterdisk in 1979, delivering recording tapes in New York City. Mastering engineer Bob Ludwig acted as his mentor. The Georgia Satellites are an American Southern rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. Ronnie Wood
Ronald David Wood (born 1 June 1947) is an English rock musician, best known as an official member of the Rolling Stones since 1975, as well as a member of Faces and the Jeff Beck Group.
