George William Brown (May 30, 1860 – February 17, 1919) was a Canadian politician and the second Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan from 1910 to 1915. Annie Gardner Barr
Annie Gardner Barr (29 July 1864 – 29 June 1921) was a Canadian artist and social reformer. Barr graduated from the Brantford Young Ladies' College in 1883, receiving several awards, and went on to study art at Alma Ladies' College in St. Thomas, Ontario. In 1893 she graduated, and also received mention for a still life she exhibited at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. In 1895, Barr married George W. Brown and moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, where she was to spend the rest of her life. Her husband was a prominent homesteader, lawyer, businessman and politician, and as his wife she gained considerable influence. From 1910 to 1915 he served as Lieutenant Governor of the province. Barr was active in the local Methodist church and, through the church, became an active supporter of the Local Council of Women, serving as an executive in the organization. 5th North-West Legislative Assembly
The 5th North-West Legislative Assembly lasted from 1902 until dissolution in 1905. This was the largest membership of any Assembly in the Northwest Territories of Canada, and the only one that truly had political parties. It was also the last one to be fully elected and have a speaker until 1975 and the last one to have a premier and executive council until 1980. It was dissolved due to the division of Alberta and Saskatchewan from the territories. The 3rd North-West Legislative Assembly was constituted after the 1894 North-West Territories general election which took place on October 31, 1984. It lasted from 1894 to 1898.
