George Robinson (footballer, Born 1878)
George Henry Robinson (1878 – March 1945) was an English professional footballer who played as a half back for Nottingham Forest and Bradford City. Career Born in Basford, Robinson began his professional career with Nottingham Forest, having previously played for Notts Jardines and Newark.Frost, p. 135 He signed for Bradford City in June 1903. He played in City's first ever Football League game, against Grimsby. He was City's captain as they won the 1907–08 Second Division title, and he also played as they won the FA Cup in 1911, serving as vice-captain. He received two benefit matches, in 1909 (alongside Jimmy Millar) and in 1914. During World War One he made one wartime appearance. When he retired from playing in 1915 he had made a then club record 343 league appearances for City. George Robinson (swindler)
George Robinson was an English stockbroker and swindler in the 1720s and early 1730s. A banker in Lombard Street, he was appointed the circulating cashier of the Charitable Corporation. In 1727 he was one of the Corporation's 'Partnership of Five' (with Sir Alexander Grant, William Burroughs, William Squire and John Thomson) who began buying up shares. He and several officers of the Corporation obtained money from it by pawning false pledges, and proceeded to engage in a large scale speculation in the shares of that company and York Buildings Company, also borrowing against the shares purchased so that his partners failed to get what they bought. Robinson obtained a seat in the House of Commons when he was elected MP for Great Marlow in 1731, but was unable to sit before the affair began to come to light. George Ross Robinson (born 12 September 1997) is a British actor. He is known for his role as Isaac Goodwin in the Netflix series ''Sex Education''. Life and career Robinson was born in Nottingham to parents Simon and Gill and grew up in Maxey, a village near Peterborough. He has a younger brother Edward "Eddie". They both attended Stamford School, and the family moved closer to Stamford in 2015. Robinson became interested in acting at 13. When he was 17, Robinson went on a school rugby tour to South Africa. On 27 July 2015, he had a severe spinal neck injury attempting a tackle whilst playing against D.F. Malan High School in Bellville near Cape Town.
