George Munsey
Henry George Munsey (born 21 February 1993) is a Scottish cricketer. He has played for the Scotland national cricket team since 2015. He is a left-handed opening batsman. He also worked as a salesperson for Gray-Nicolls. Early life Munsey was born in Oxford, England. He was educated at Loretto School in East Lothian between 2006 and 2011. He attended the school on a golf scholarship. He moved from Oxford to Edinburgh at the age of 13 initially with the intention of pursuing his career as a pro golfer. He went onto become a scratch golfer by the age of 16 and he also went onto play golf alongside Tyrrell Hatton regularly in Oxfordshire. However, he changed his mind from becoming a pro golfer to a cricketer as he found tough challenges in pursuing his interest in golf. George Muncey
George Muncey (27 December 1835 — 14 March 1883) was an English first-class cricketer. Muncey was born in December 1835 at Mildenhall, Suffolk. Muncey made played first-class cricket for the Cambridge Town Club (also known as Cambridgeshire), making his debut in 1860 against Cambridge University at Fenner's. He played first-class cricket for Cambridgeshire representative sides until 1866, having made ten first-class appearances. An all-rounder, he scored 197 runs at an average of 10.36, with a highest score of 37; as a right-arm underarm slow bowler, he took 10 wickets at a bowling average of 19.22, and best figures of 4 for 25. Outside of cricket, Muncey found himself in trouble with the law on several occasions. Loretto School
Loretto School, founded in 1827, is an independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 0 to 18. The campus occupies in Musselburgh, East Lothian, Scotland. History The school was founded by the Reverend Thomas Langhorne in 1827. Langhorne came from Crosby Ravensworth in Westmorland. He named the school for Loretto House, his then home, which was itself named for a medieval chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto which had formerly stood on the site of the school. The school was later taken over by his son, also Thomas Langhorne. The last link with the Langhorne family was Thomas' son John, who was a master at Loretto from 1890 to 1897, and later headmaster at John Watson's Institution. 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier
The 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, for the 2016 World Twenty20, was held from 6 to 26 July 2015. The tournament was hosted by both Ireland and Scotland. 51 matches were played among 14 nations, down from 72 matches among 16 nations previously. The tournament formed part of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier series, with the top six teams going forward to the qualifying round of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. The Scottish cricket team toured Ireland from 18 to 21 June 2015 to play four Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Scotland won the four-match series 2–0, with two games declared no-results due to rain. Originally planned as a three-match series, an extra game was added to the schedule after the second match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup
The 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup tournament was a limited overs cricket competition that formed part of the 2021 English cricket season in England and Wales. Matches were contested over 50 overs per side, having List A cricket status, with all eighteen first-class counties competing in the tournament. The tournament started on 22 July 2021, with the final taking place on 19 August 2021 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Somerset were the defending champions winning the 2019 tournament, with no tournament taking place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2020 Vitality Blast
The 2020 Vitality Blast was the 2020 season of the t20 Blast, a professional Twenty20 cricket league being played in England and Wales. It was the third season in which the domestic T20 competition, run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), which was branded as the Vitality Blast due to the tournament's sponsorship deal. On 12 August 2020, following a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ECB confirmed the fixtures for the tournament. 2019 Global T20 Canada
The 2019 Global T20 Canada was the second edition of the Global T20 Canada, a 20-over professional cricket tournament, played at the CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario. It started on 25 July 2019, and concluded with the final on 11 August 2019. It was slightly later in the calendar than the previous tournament, to avoid clashing with the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Vancouver Knights are the defending champions. A new team named New York Legends were announced to replace Cricket West Indies B Team. However, the idea was later cancelled, and the Brampton Wolves were named as the sixth franchise team in June 2019. Boundary (cricket)
In cricket, the boundary is the perimeter of a Cricket field, playing field. It is also the term given to a Run (cricket), scoring shot where the ball is hit to, or beyond, that perimeter, which generally earns four or six runs for the Batting (cricket), batting team. Edge of the field The boundary is the edge of the playing field, or the physical object (often a rope) marking the edge of the field. In low-level matches, a series of plastic cones are sometimes used. Since the early 2000s, the boundaries at professional matches are often a series of padded cushions carrying sponsors' logos strung along a rope. If one of these is accidentally moved during play (such as by a fielder sliding into the rope in an attempt to stop the ball) the boundary is considered to remain at the point where that object first stood. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. Bath Cricket Club is an English amateur cricket club based in the city of Bath, Somerset. The club was founded in 1859 and the Men's 1st XI compete in the West of England Premier League, which is an accredited ECB Premier League, the highest level for recreational club cricket in England and Wales. Bath Cricket Club currently run four Men's teams, and two Women's Teams. In 2003 Bath Cricket Club merged with Somerset Wanderers Women's cricket team. Gloucestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Gloucestershire. Founded in 1870, Gloucestershire have always been first-class and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The club played its first senior match in 1870 and W. G. Cricket Scotland, formerly known as the Scottish Cricket Union, is the governing body of the sport of cricket in Scotland. The body is based at the National Cricket Academy, Edinburgh. The SCU was formed in 1908, but underwent a major restructuring in 2001 including a name change. It became an International Cricket Council member in 1994 as an Associate nation.
