George Fredrick Loken
George Fredrick Loken (August 9, 1906https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/209909528/george-frederick-loken – August 25, 1975) was a business owner and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Rosetown from 1964 to 1975 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Liberal. He was born in Elstow, Saskatchewan and was educated there. Loken worked in a bank from 1923 to 1927, then worked in the real estate business until 1931 and, following that, operated a farm implement and automobile dealership until 1964. Rosetown (provincial Electoral District)
Rosetown was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada, centered on the community of Rosetown. Created before the 3rd Saskatchewan general election in 1912, this district was dissolved and combined with the Elrose constituency (as Rosetown-Elrose) before the 18th Saskatchewan general election in 1975. It is now part of a revived Rosetown-Elrose constituency. Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. The Saskatchewan Liberal Party is a liberal political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The party was the provincial affiliate of the Liberal Party of Canada until 2009. Rosetown, Saskatchewan
Rosetown is a town in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, at the junction of provincial Highway 7 and Highway 4, approximately 115 km southwest of Saskatoon. The town's motto, "The Heart of the Wheat Belt" reflects its history of being a farming community. A referendum was held in 2001, spearheaded by resident Teneal Crossman, to change the motto to “The Heart of the Meat Belt” to reflect the booming beef industry. The motto remained unchanged in a landslide vote supporting the original motto and Crossman soon left town. It is the largest town located in the ''Rural Municipality St. Andrew's 287, Saskatchewan''.
