Geoff Goodland (born December 22, 1955, in Portage, Wisconsin, United States) is an American curler. At the national level, he is a 2002 United States men's curling champion and two-time United States mixed curling champion (1991, 1993). Portage is a city in and the county seat of Columbia County, Wisconsin, Columbia County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 10,581 at the 2020 census making it the largest city in Columbia County. The city is part of the Madison, Wisconsin, metropolitan statistical area, Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. Michalis Liapis ( el, Μιχάλης Λιάπης; born 8 May 1951) is a former Greek New Democracy politician and minister. Liapis was born in Athens to Konstantinos Liapis, a lawyer, and Antigoni Karamanli (1921–2010). His mother was a younger sister of Konstantinos Karamanlis, who was four times prime minister and twice president of Greece. This means that Liapis is a nephew as well as a first cousin to former prime ministers, the latter being Kostas Karamanlis. A graduate of the schools of law and political science of the University of Athens, Liapis attended postgraduate studies in law in Paris. He later qualified and practised as a lawyer in Greece. Marcia Tillisch
Marcia A. Tillisch (October 8, 1963 – November 20, 2014) was an American curler. She was a three-time national champion, once in women's and twice in mixed, and represented the United States at the 1995 World Women's Curling Championship. Curling career Tillisch played lead for Lisa Schoeneberg in 1995 when they won the gold medal at the US National Championships with an undefeated 9–0 record. As national champions, Tillisch, Schoeneberg, and their other teammates Amy Wright and Lori Mountford continued on to represent the United States at the 1995 World Championship in Brandon, Manitoba. Todd Birr
Todd Birr (born April 20, 1968) is an American curler. He was a bronze medalist at the 2007 World Men's Curling Championship. Career Birr skipped his team to victory at the 2007 United States Curling Men's Championships, beating out teams such as Olympic bronze medalist Pete Fenson and former national champion Jason Larway in the process. He had relative success in prior nationals finishing fourth in 2006 and as a semi-finalist in 2004. His victory qualified his team of Bill Todhunter, Greg Johnson and Kevin Birr to a berth at the 2007 Ford World Men's Curling Championship representing team USA. There, Birr's was the only team to defeat Glenn Howard's Canadian team in the round robin when Howard wrecked on his last rock, and Birr bumped out a Canadian stone to score three giving him a victory. Mike Farbelow
Mike Farbelow (born March 30, 1963, in Saint Paul, Minnesota) is an American curler. He lives in Minneapolis. Career Farbelow began curling in 1977. Farbelow made appearances at the United States Men's Curling Championship in 1985, 1998, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. He served as alternate on Team Jacobson at the 2011 national championships. Farbelow is also the 2007 National club champion, 1985 Minnesota state champion, and the 1981 and 1983 Minnesota junior champion. Farbelow led his rink to a fifth-place finish in 2009, when he was the winner of the Ann Brown Sportsmanship Award. He then skipped his team to a silver medal at the 2010 U.S. Men's Championships, where they lost the gold medal match to Pete Fenson's rink. 2011 United States Men's Curling Championship
The 2011 United States Men's Curling Championship took place on February 12–19 at the Scheels Arena in Fargo, North Dakota. It was held in conjunction with the 2011 United States Women's Curling Championship. After a win over the Tyler George rink, Pete Fenson and his team became champions for the second consecutive time. They represented the United States at the 2011 World Championships in Regina, Saskatchewan, finishing in 10th place after an unfortunate series of close losses dropped their win–loss record to 3-8. It is the worst finish by an American men's team at the world championships to date. Road to the Nationals Teams qualified for the men's nationals in one of two ways. Timothy Solin (born June 18, 1958 in Superior, Wisconsin, United States) is an American curler. He competed in the 1998 Winter Olympics and at three World Senior Curling Championships. Curling career He played at the 1998 Winter Olympics as alternate for Tim Somerville's team, where USA men's team finished in fourth place. In 2007 he played second for Mike Farbelow when they won the Minnesota State Championship and then won the United States Men's Club Championship. Solin has won the United States Senior Men's Championship three times, in 2011 and 2016 with Geoff Goodland as skip and 2017 with Mike Farbelow as skip.
