Gemunu Wijesuriya
Gamunu Mahinda Wijesuriya (5 August 1934 – 19 March 2007: as si, ගැමුණු විජේසූරිය), was an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre, radio and television as well as a broadcaster, comedian, singer and radio program producer. A tall skinny personality, Wijesuriye is a renowned comedian in Sinhala cinema and a dubbing artist. Personal life Wijesuriya was born on 5 August 1934 in Dewalapola, Sri Lanka. He studied at Udugampola Maha Vidyalaya. He was married to Maali and had two children. Wijesuriya died on 19 March 2007 in Colombo. Career He started his career as a radio artist joining the Radio Ceylon (currently known as Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation) with ''Lama Pitiya'', a popular radio programme produced by Karunaratne Abeysekera for the children of the country. Dewalapola is a small rural area in Minuwangoda Divisional Secretariate of Gampaha District, Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is situated on the 245/1 Nittambuwa - Katunayake / Airport bus route between Veyangoda and Minuwangoda. The major landuses in the area are rubber, coconut, MHG, rice and pineapples. It is the second film of Re Daniel Dawal Migel film franchise and sequel to 1998 ''Re Daniel Dawal Migel 1'' film and prequel to 2004 '' Re Daniel Dawal Migel 3'' film. ''Leader'' ( si, ලීඩර්) is a 2009 Sri Lankan Sinhala action thriller film directed by Ranjan Ramanayake and co-produced by Bevan Perera and P. Aruran. It stars Ranjan Ramanayake and Adeen Khan, along with Babu Antony, Robin Fernando and Anusha Damayanthi. Music composed by Suneth Kelum. Public Performance Board of Sri Lanka removed some controversial political parts of the film. Leader is the film in Sinhala cinema history that had been screened with the most number of copies with 50 film theaters. Some of the political clips were removed from the film due to Public Performance Board (PPB).
