Geezer (dominoes)
Geezer is a slang term for a man. * In the UK, it is used most often to refer simply to a man, e.g. "some geezer was here earlier", and less often as a complimentary phrase, e.g. "he is a proper geezer". * In the US, the term typically refers to a cranky old man and can carry the connotation of either age or eccentricity; see fuddy-duddy. Fuddy-duddy
"Fuddy-duddy" (or "fuddy duddy" or "fuddy-dud") is a term for a person who is fussy while old-fashioned, traditionalist, conformist or conservative, sometimes almost to the point of eccentricity (behavior), eccentricity or geekiness. It is a slang term, mildly derogatory but sometimes affectionate too and can be used to describe someone with a zealous focus on order. Etymology "Fuddy-duddy" is considered a word based on Reduplication, duplication and may have originated as a fused phrase made to form a rhyming jingle. Duddy is similar to Daddy and may have caught on from children's rhyming. Douglas Harper of the ''Online Etymology Dictionary'' reports it from "1871, American English, of uncertain origin." Geezer Butler
Terence Michael Joseph "Geezer" Butler (born 17 July 1949) is a English musician and songwriter. He is best known as the bassist and primary lyricist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. He has also recorded and performed with Heaven & Hell, GZR, and Ozzy Osbourne. Butler was the bassist of Deadland Ritual, which has since disbanded. Kieran McGeeney
Kieran McGeeney (born 18 October 1971) is an Irish people, Irish Gaelic football Manager (Gaelic games), manager and former player, who currently manages his native county, having previously managed the senior Kildare county football team, Kildare county team from 2007 until 2013. Geezer (comic Strip)
''The Beezer'' was a long-running weekly British comic book, which was the home to 120 different comic strips over the years. First printed in 1956, it merged with the ''Cracker'' and ''Plug'' comic strips in 1976 and 1979 respectively. It was, then, renamed into ''The Beezer and Topper'' on merging with '' The Topper'' in 1990. However, publication ceased in 1993 eventually. After its closure, some of its characters appeared in ''The Beano'' and ''The Dandy.'' ''Ordinary World'' is a 2016 comedy-drama film written and directed by Lee Kirk. Up Helly Aa ( ; literally "Up Holy ">ay/nowiki> All") is a type of fire festival held annually from January to March in various communities in Shetland, Scotland, to mark the end of the Yule season. Each festival involves a torchlit procession by squads of costumed participants (known as guizers) that culminates in the burning of an imitation Viking galley. The largest festival held in Lerwick, Shetland's capital, involves a procession of up to a thousand guizers who march through the streets of Lerwick on the last Tuesday in January. Mummers Play
Mummers' plays are folk plays performed by troupes of amateur actors, traditionally all male, known as mummers or guisers (also by local names such as ''rhymers'', ''pace-eggers'', ''soulers'', ''tipteerers'', ''wrenboys'', and ''galoshins''). Historically, mummers' plays consisted of informal groups of costumed community members that visited from house to house on various holidays. Geyser
A geyser (, ) is a spring characterized by an intermittent discharge of water ejected turbulently and accompanied by steam. As a fairly rare phenomenon, the formation of geysers is due to particular hydrogeological conditions that exist only in a few places on Earth.
