GKS Gedania 1922 is a football team based in Gdańsk, Poland. Founded in 1945 the club was the reforming of Gedania Danzig. History Gedania Danzig Formed on 15 September 1922, Gedania was an ethnic Polish football team who played in the Free City of Danzig (present day Gdańsk, Poland). A sports club was created by the gymnastics club ''Towarzystwo Gimnastyczne Sokół'' (Falcon Gymnastic Company) and was initially given the name Polonia Danzig, ''Polonia'' being the Latinized name for Poland. The local authorities opposed this name however with the club settling for the name Gedania Danzig, ''Gedania'' being the Latinized name of Gdańsk/Danzig. The footballing section of the sports club was not formed until 1933, and competed in the German lower divisions. III liga, group IV is one of the four groups of III liga, which are competitions of the fourth tier of the Polish football league system. This group was established in 2016, when, after the 2015–16 season, as a result of the reorganization of the III liga in Poland, group VII was merged with group VIII. Responsible for the games taking place in this group are: the Lublin Football Association based in Lublin, the Lesser Poland Football Association based in Kraków, the Subcarpathian Football Association based in Rzeszów and the Holy Cross Football Association based in Kielce. SKS Stoczniowiec Gdańsk is a football club based in Gdańsk, Poland. It spent a large part of its history as Polonia Gdańsk. The club was founded in 1945 and currently plays in the Gdańsk regional divisions. It is best known for its period of success in the 1970s which saw the club play in the Polish cup semifinal and almost achieve promotion to the top flight of Polish football, and for a merger with Lechia Gdańsk creating the Lechia-Polonia Gdańsk team which played between 1998-2002. History The club was founded on 27 September 1945 as KS Nit Gdańsk, and in several seasons were known as Stal Gdańsk. In the early years the team played in the lower regional divisions of Polish football. During the 1960s the team were playing in the third tier, often fighting for promotion. Rafał Murawski
Rafał Murawski (, born 9 October 1981) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Murawski was born in Malbork. While spending his youth club time mostly in Gdańsk, he signed his first senior contract with Arka Gdynia, where he spent four successful years. In early 2005, he moved to Amica Wronki. In July 2006, he moved to Lech Poznań after their merger with Amica. In the summer of 2009, he moved to Russian club Rubin Kazan on a three-year contract. However, in August 2011, he returned to Lech Poznań and signed a three-and-a-half-year contract. International career He made his debut on 15 November 2006 in the Euro 2008 qualifier match, against Belgium in Brussels. Roman Korynt
Roman Korynt (12 October 1929 – 15 July 2018) was a Polish international footballer who played as a defender. Most of his career was spent with Lechia Gdańsk, spending over 15 years at the club. He also had short spells with Gedania Gdańsk, OWKS Lublin, and CWKS Warszawa. He received 32 caps for Poland between 1952 and 1959. Biography Early years Korynt was born in Tczew in 1929. Both of his parents came from Kociewie, with his father's parents both being Greek emigrants with the family's name originally being ''Korinth''. Originally his sporting passion started with boxing training with MKS Wybrzeże while also developing a passion for football at this time joining Grom Gdynia. Korynt joined Gedania Gdańsk in 1948 playing with the club for just over a season before being called up into the army. Krzysztof Adamczyk (born 2 February 1956 in Gdańsk, Poland) is a former football player. He was 1980–1981 Ekstraklasa Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. Adamczyk was also one of the great players of the golden era of Larissa, the Greek team which won both the league and the Greek cup in the 1980s. III liga (Trzecia liga) is a Polish football league that sits in the fourth tier of the Polish football league system. Until the end of the 2007–08 season, III liga referred to a league at the third tier (now called II liga) but this was changed with the formation of the Ekstraklasa as the top level league in Poland. Lechia Gdańsk () is a Polish football club based in Gdańsk. The club was founded in 1945 by people expelled from Lwów, who were supporters of Poland's oldest football team Lechia Lwów, founded in 1903. The club's name comes from Lechia, a poetic name for Poland, and is a continuation of the name used by the club based in Lwów. In their early years, Lechia enjoyed some success, most notably finishing third in the Polish top division, before spending decades in the second and third tiers. IV liga Pomerania group (pl. grupa pomorska) is one of the groups of IV liga, the 5th level of Polish football league system. The league was created in season 2000-01 after introducing new administrative division of Poland. Until the end of the 2007-08 season, IV liga was 4th tier of league system, but this changed with the formation of the Ekstraklasa as the top level league in Poland.
