Gaëtane Thiney
Gaëtane Iza Laure Thiney (born 28 October 1985) is a French professional footballer who plays for Division 1 Féminine club Paris FC. Primarily a midfielder, she can also play as a striker. Thiney is also a member of the France national team, making her first major tournament appearance with her nation at UEFA Women's Euro 2009. She is a two-time winner of the Division 1 Féminine player of the year award. Early career Thiney began her career playing for ASS Brienne-le-Château in the commune of Brienne-le-Château, which is 26 miles northeast of her hometown Troyes. After a stint in the youth system, she moved a few miles north to Olympique Saint-Memmie, who were playing in the first division of French women's football. Brienne-le-Château () is a commune in the Aube department in north-central France. It is located from the right bank of the river Aube and 26 miles northeast of Troyes. History It was the centre of the medieval County of Brienne, whose lords, first counts and eventually dukes, had a claim to the Kingdom of Jerusalem. John of Brienne ( c. 1170 – 27 March 1237), also known as John I, was King of Jerusalem from 1210 to 1225 (and Latin Emperor of Constantinople from 1229 to 1237). Laëtitia Françoise Andrée "Toto" Tonazzi (born 31 January 1981 in Créteil) is a former French footballer who played for Montpellier of the Division 1 Féminine. She played as a striker and was a member of the France women's national football team. She is known for her impressive strike rate for her club and country. During the 2007–08 season, Tonazzi scored a career-high 27 goals, which included scoring five on the final match day against the women's section of Évreux FC, formerly Évreux AC. The 2009–10 Division 1 Féminine was the 36th edition of the women's league since its re-establishment by the French Football Federation. The league began on 27 September 2009 and ended on 13 June 2010. Olympique Lyonnais were the defending champions.
