Catherine Gayer
Catherine Gayer (born 11 February 1937) is an American coloratura soprano, violinist, musicologist, and academic voice teacher. She made a career in Germany. A member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin for more than four decades, she is known for her performance in premieres of contemporary operas, such as Luigi Nono's ''Intolleranza 1960'' at La Fenice in Venice, the title role in Aribert Reimann's ''Melusine'' at the Schwetzingen Festival, and Josef Tal's ''Die Versuchung'' at the Bavarian State Opera. Career Born in Los Angeles, Gayer is of Finno-Ugric and Indian ancestry. She studied voice, violin, and musicology in Los Angeles and moved to Germany on a Fulbright scholarship in the 1950s, studying at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin with Irma Beilke. She is also a trained ballet dancer. Gyula Gáyer
Gyula Gáyer (16 February 1883, in Kiscell, Hungary, Austria-Hungary – 13 June 1932, in Szombathely, Hungary) was a Hungarian botanist, lawyer, and judge. His early education was at Celldömölk. At the age of ten, Gáyer came to Szombathely, where he became a pupil of the Premonstratensian grammar school. He finished high school in Budapest. From 1904, he continued his studies at the university in Cluj-Napoca, where he was called to the bar in 1907. From 1914 onward he was a judge. Ted Gayer (born May 8, 1970) is an United States of America, American economics, economist and the president of the Niskanen Center. He is formerly the executive vice president of the Brookings Institution, where he also once served as the vice president and director of the Economic Studies Program and the Joseph A. Pechman Senior Fellow. On June 12, 2022, Gayer was appointed acting president of the Brookings Institution following the resignation of John R. Allen that same day.
