Gary S. Metcalf
Gary S. Metcalf (born 1957) is an American systems scientist, organizational theorist, management consultant, and university professor. He has served as president of the International Federation for Systems Research 2010-2014. Biography Raised in Oviedo, Florida Metcalf received a B.S. in Education in 1981 from the North Texas State University, an M.S.S.W. in Social Work in 1985 from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Ph.D. in Human Science in 2000 at the Saybrook Graduate School. This doctoral research was conducted under the mentorship of Béla H. Bánáthy, focused on Social Systems Design and Organizational Development. Metcalf began his professional career as a systems-oriented family therapist, working with teenagers and their families in short-term residential facilities. Saybrook University is a private university in Pasadena, California. It was founded in 1971 by Eleanor Camp Criswell and others. Jennifer M. Wilby (born 1953) is an American and UK management scientist, and past director of the Centre for Systems Studies, and a senior lecturer and researcher in management systems and sciences in The Business School, University of Hull. She served as president of the International Society for the Systems Sciences for the term 2010–2011. Biography Jennifer Wilby received a BA in political science in 1978 from the University of California, Riverside, and a MSc in cybernetic systems from San José State University in 1992. In 1999 she also received a MPH in public health from the University of Leeds, and in 2007 a PhD in management systems at the University of Hull.
