Gary Poole
Gary John Poole (born 11 September 1967) is an English former professional footballer who played as a right-back. He made more than 250 appearances in the Football League, and a further 76 in the Conference. Life and career Poole was born in Stratford, London. He came through the juniors at Tottenham Hotspur and was given a professional contract, but made no appearances for the first team and was released after two years. He signed for Fourth Division club Cambridge United, and after 18 months was sold for £3,000 to Conference side Barnet, managed by Barry Fry. In his first full season Barnet were promoted as champions to Division Four, and reached the play-offs in 1991–92. He was then allowed to leave on a free transfer to Plymouth Argyle in the newly designated Second Division (third tier), where he captained the side. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then go on to sign for any club offering a contract to them. Liam Sean Daish (born 23 September 1968) is a football coach, manager and former professional player who was appointed academy manager at Birmingham City in 2022. Daish was a centre-half who played in the Football League for Portsmouth, Cambridge United and Birmingham City, in the Premier League for Coventry City, and in non-league football for Barnet and Havant & Waterlooville. The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. John Buckley (footballer, Born 1962)
John William Buckley (born 18 May 1962) is a Scottish football coach and former player, who was manager of English FA WSL club Doncaster Rovers Belles from 2003 until 2013. Buckley made over 350 league appearances as a winger in a playing career that began with Celtic, where he made his professional debut. He later played for clubs including Partick Thistle, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United before ending his playing career with Rotherham United. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
