Gary Glenn
Gary Richard Glenn (June 16, 1958 – July 27, 2023) was an American politician and activist who was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives for the state's 98th district, from 2015 to 2018, as a Republican. He campaigned to prohibit compulsory union membership or financial support as a condition of employment. He was also president of the American Family Association of Michigan, coauthoring a 2004 amendment to the state constitution which defined marriage as solely between one man and one woman, until it was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court's 2015 decision in ''Obergefell v. Hodges''. Pete Hoekstra
Cornelis Piet "Pete" Hoekstra (; born October 30, 1953) is a Dutch-American politician who served as the United States Ambassador to the Netherlands from January 10, 2018, to January 17, 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the U.S. representative for Michigan's 2nd congressional district from 1993 to 2011. Born in the Netherlands, Hoekstra immigrated to the United States as a child. In 1992, Hoekstra ran for the U.S. House, defeating thirteen-term incumbent Guy Vander Jagt in the Republican primary and Democratic opponent John H. Miltner in the general election. Hoekstra was the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee from 2004 to 2007. Tuscola County, Michigan
Tuscola County is a county in the Thumb region of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the population was 53,323. The county seat is Caro. The county was created by Michigan Law on April 1, 1840, from land in Sanilac County and attached to Saginaw County for administrative purposes. Lapeer County is a county located in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 88,619. The county seat is Lapeer. The county was created on September 18, 1822, and was fully organized on February 2, 1835. The name is a corruption of the French ''la pierre'', which means "the stone". Lapeer County is located north of Detroit and east of Flint. History Lapeer County was part of New France from 1534. Midland is a city in and the county seat of Midland County, Michigan. The city's population was 42,547 as of the 2020 census.
