Gary Elphick
Gary Elphick (born 17 October 1985) is an English footballer who is currently player-manager of Hastings United. Career Elphick started his career at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he made two league appearances during two seasons. He had two loan spells whilst at Brighton, joining Eastbourne Borough in September 2004 scoring only one goal in just one game before returning to the Seagulls, he later joined Conference side Aldershot Town on loan in January 2006, playing just three games. At the end of the 2005–06 season, he was released by Brighton and signed for newly promoted Football Conference side St Albans, the club was relegated at the end of the 2006–07 season, for which he was named as Player of the Year. Brighton
Brighton () is a seaside resort and one of the two main areas of the City of Brighton and Hove in the county of East Sussex, England. It is located south of London. Tommy Elphick (born 7 September 1987) is an English former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football)#Centre-back, centre-back and currently an assistant coach at former club, AFC Bournemouth. Elphick started at the Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. Reserves and Academy, Brighton & Hove Albion academy and progressed through the ranks to be named Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., first-team captain, leading the side to promotion to the EFL Championship, Football League Championship in 2011. Adam Hinshelwood (born 8 January 1984) is an English football manager and former player who manages Worthing. Playing career Brighton & Hove Albion Hinshelwood was born in Oxford and joined Brighton & Hove Albion as a trainee. He turned professional in August 2002, while his uncle, Martin Hinshelwood was Brighton manager. He made his league debut on 10 August 2002 in a 3–1 victory away to Burnley, picking up man-of-the-match honours from the sports press. Richard Wilfred Hill (born 20 September 1963) is an English football coach and manager. He is also a former footballer who played for Oxford United, Watford, Northampton Town and Leicester City. He has been assistant manager at six different clubs, including Queens Park Rangers, and had a difficult but successful stint as manager of Stevenage Borough before taking Eastleigh into the Conference for the first time in their history. Cup-tied
In association football, a player who has appeared for a football club during a knockout cup but subsequently transfers to another club is ineligible to play for the new club in the remainder of that season's cup competition. Such a player is said to be cup-tied, i.e. tied to their original club for the duration of the cup tournament. They become eligible for their new club in the following season. The rule is intended to prevent teams which progress in the competition buying talented players from teams which have already been eliminated, in an attempt to increase their chances of winning. It also discourages players whose chief priority is winning a trophy from requesting a transfer once their team has been eliminated from the competition.
