Gary Agnew
Gary Agnew (born May 24, 1960) is a Canadians, Canadian ice hockey coach currently serving as an associate coach with the Abbotsford Canucks. He was formerly an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League. He has also served as an assistant coach with the St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League. Playing career As a player, Agnew played four years for the University of New Brunswick, and then for the Fredericton Express of the American Hockey League and the Milwaukee Admirals of the International Hockey League (1945–2001), International Hockey League. Coaching career In 1990 Agnew took over the head coaching job of the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. He won the Matt Leyden Trophy as Coach of the Year in 1992–93. Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins (colloquially known as the Pens) are a professional ice hockey team based in Pittsburgh. Syracuse Crunch
The Syracuse Crunch are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). They play in Syracuse, New York, at the Upstate Medical University Arena. They are the primary development affiliate of the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning. History Vancouver and Pittsburgh affiliations (1994–2000) The franchise originated in 1992 as the Hamilton Canucks, which was an affiliate of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks played in Hamilton, Ontario, for two seasons, before relocating to upstate New York in 1994. They were then renamed the "Crunch" from a public vote that included five names. The Windsor Spitfires are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The team is based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. 1990–91 OHL Season
The 1990–91 OHL season was the 11th season of the Ontario Hockey League. Sixteen teams each played 66 games. The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds won the J. Ross Robertson Cup, defeating the Oshawa Generals. The Detroit Compuware Ambassadors are granted a franchise. Expansion/Realignment Detroit Compuware Ambassadors On December 11, 1989, the Detroit Compuware Ambassadors were approved to join the league for the 1990–91 season as an expansion team. The club was owned by former Windsor Compuware Spitfires owner Peter Karmanos. The club was the first American based team in the OHL, and would play in the city of Detroit. Lindsay Elizabeth Agnew (born March 31, 1995) is a Canadian retired soccer player who played as a forward for the Canada women's national soccer team and National Women's Soccer League clubs North Carolina Courage, Houston Dash, and Washington Spirit. Early life Born in Kingston, Ontario, Agnew began playing soccer at age four. Her family moved to Syracuse, New York in 2001, and moved again to Columbus, Ohio in 2006. She attended Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin, Ohio where she played on the varsity soccer team all four years of her high school career. She also played basketball. After helping the team reach the state finals during her junior year, Agnew was named to first team All-Ohio and ESPNHS second team All-American. The ''Observer-Dispatch'' (''The O-D'') is the largest newspaper serving the Utica-Rome metropolitan area in Central New York, circulating in Oneida County, Herkimer County, and parts of Madison County. Based in Utica, New York, the publication is owned by Gannett. History Eliasaph Dorchester founded the weekly ''Utica Observer'' in 1817. Trent Cull
Trent Cull (born September 27, 1973) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who most recently served as an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Cull played ten seasons of professional hockey, including 435 regular-season games in the American Hockey League (AHL), where he scored 20 goals and 50 assists for 70 points, while earning 1049 career penalty minutes. Following his playing career, Cull took up coaching to work as an AHL assistant coach with the Syracuse Crunch under Ross Yates from 2006 to 2010. The Utica Comets are a professional ice hockey team based in Utica, New York, with home games at the Adirondack Bank Center. They are members of the North Division in the Eastern Conference of the American Hockey League (AHL) and affiliated with the National Hockey League's (NHL) New Jersey Devils. Mike Johnston (born February 19, 1957) is a Canadian ice hockey coach who currently serves as head coach, vice president and general manager of the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League. Johnston led the Winterhawks to four consecutive WHL Finals appearances, including a championship in 2013. After six historic seasons in Portland, Johnston was hired as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL).
