Garry Tan
Garry Tan (; born 1981) is the founder of Initialized Capital. He previously co-founded Posterous and Posthaven. He was also an early employee at Palantir Technologies, and a partner at Y Combinator. Early life and education Tan was born in 1981. Tan's parents were Singaporean immigrants. Tan grew up in Fremont, California and graduated from American High School. He started programming at 14-years-old and found his first job by cold-calling the Yellow Pages. He attended Stanford University from 1999 to 2003, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Engineering. Career Tan worked at Microsoft and then became the 10th employee at Palantir Technologies. In 2008, Tan co-founded Posterous, a blogging platform, which was acquired by Twitter in 2012 for $20 million. He co-founded Posthaven after the shutdown of Posterous. 2022 San Francisco District Attorney Recall Election
The 2022 San Francisco District Attorney recall election was a successful special recall election to remove San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin from office. It was held on June 7, 2022, concurrent with the 2022 statewide primary elections. In the recall election, 55% of voters supported his removal, successfully removing him from office. Mayor London Breed, who had backed a more moderate Democrat in the 2019 district attorney race, appointed Brooke Jenkins as Boudin's replacement on July 8, 2022. Cyan Banister (born 1977) is an American angel investor and entrepreneur. She is a partner at Long Journey Ventures, an early stage venture capital fund. The 2022 San Francisco Board of Education recall elections (also called the San Francisco school board recall elections) were held on February 15, 2022. Voters had the option to remove each of three San Francisco Board of Education (School Board) Commissioners—Alison Collins, Gabriela Lopez, and Faauuga Moliga—from office. Lopez was president of the board at the time, while Collins and Moliga had served as vice president previously. YIMBY Action
The YIMBY movement (short for "yes, in my back yard") is a pro-housing movement in contrast and opposition to the NIMBY ("''not'' in my back yard") phenomenon.
