Garaad Abdulahi Garaad Soofe
Garad Abdullah Garaf Soofe Durraan (Garaad Cabdillaahi G. Soofe Durran), '' Garad'', of the '' Ahmed Garad'', the second most senior chief of the Farah Garad branch of the Dhulbahante clan of the Somali people. He was one of the elders of the Dhulbahante clan. In his later years, he often attended meetings as a representative of the Buuhoodle. The chiefs and elders of Dhulbahante are divided into pro-Somaliland, pro-Puntland, and distanced from both. Garaad Soofe was distanced from both. Note that his relatives' names end with ''Garaad Soofe''. For examples, his successor Garaad Abdirisaag Garaad Soofe, his brother Osman Garaad Soofe. Career Abdulahi (later Garaad Abdulahi Garaad Soofe) was born around 1933–1934 in Horufadhi, Togdheer region of British Somaliland. Received his religious education in Baidoa. Horufadhi
Horufadhi (Hor-u-fadhi, Horu-fadhi, Horufadi, Horofadhi, Horafadi) is a town in the Togdheer region of Somaliland which comes under the Buhoodle District. History Horufadhi is mentioned as Horufadi in a book published in England in 1951. According to this book, in Horufadhi, nomads of the Solemadu branch of the Habr Je'lo, Isaaq clan and the Yahia, Aligherri and Hagr Adan branch of the Dhulbahante clan used wells during the dry season. In January 2012, former rebel militias based in Horufadhi and other locations joined the Somaliland army. In April 2013, one person was killed in a clash between Jaamac Siyaad and Reer Hagar of the Dhulbahante clan in the Horufadhi district. British Somaliland
British Somaliland, officially the Somaliland Protectorate ( so, Dhulka Maxmiyada Soomaalida ee Biritishka), was a British Empire, British protectorate in present-day Somaliland. Khatumo State
Khatumo State ( so, Khaatumo; ar, ولاية خاتمة, translit=wilāyat khātimah), officially the Khatumo State of Somalia ( so, Dowlad Goboleedka Khaatumo ee Soomaaliya), was a successor to the SSC Movement. Centred on the Sool, Sanaag regions and the Buuhoodle district of Togdheer region, its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 2012. By 2015 the state ceased to function and on 20 October 2017 in Aynaba, an agreement was signed between Khatumo President and the Somaliland government which stipulated the amendment of Somaliland's constitution and to re-integrate the territory into Somaliland. Cayn
Cayn or Ayn is an administrative region that Puntland declared to be founded in the 2000s. However, the administrative division of Somaliland defines it as Buhoodle District in Togdheer, and Somaliland effectively controls it with the exception of Buhoodle and some other parts. It is bordered by Togdheer to the west, Sool to the east, and Ethiopia to the south. Its capital is Buuhoodle. As an intra-46th meridian east territory, Buuhoodle has a tradition of being external to European colonial rule or convention. Sool ( so, Sool, ar, صول) is an administrative region ('' gobol'') in south eastern Somaliland/north western Somalia. It borders Togdheer to the west, Sanaag to the north, Ethiopia to the south and Nugal, Bari to the east. Its capital city is Las Anod. The region is disputed by the self-declared Republic of Somaliland and Puntland, a Federal Member State of Somalia. The region is partially controlled by both polities. Buuhoodle
Buuhoodle ( so, Buuhoodle, ar, بووهودل), also known as Bohotle, is the second largest city in the Togdheer region of Somaliland and also the capital of the Cayn region under Puntland. It is a prominent border town for movements of goods to and from Somaliland and the Somali Region of Ethiopia. The surrounding district is rich in both livestock and fledgeling agriculture. Taleh ( so, Taleex, ar, تليح) is a historical town in the eastern Sool, Somalia, Sool region of Somaliland. As of September 2015, both Puntland and Somaliland had nominal influence or control in Taleh and it's vicinity. The town served as the capital of the pre-independence Dervish movement (Somali), Dervish movement.Laurence, p.47. The Dalyare fort and the Taleh complex built between 1909 and 1910 are among the least disfigured Dervish era structures that remain in Sool province, whom altogether comprise 27 Dervish era structures. The oldest or first of these forts was the Ugaadhyahan Dhulbahante-inhabited fort at Halin and destroyed by Eric Swayne in 1902; the second-oldest was the Bah Ali Gheri Dhulbahante-inhabited fort at Eyl built in 1903.
