The Beat Fleet
The Beat Fleet, also known as TBF, is a band from Split, Croatia, founded in 1990. Members of the band are: Aleksandar Antić (vocals, lyrics, samples, accordion), Mladen Badovinac (vocal, samples), Luka Barbić (vocals, keyboards, samples), Ognjen Pavlović (bass guitar), Nikša Mandalinić (electric guitar), and Nikola Vidović (drums). They published six albums. The Beat Fleet are widely considered to be one of the most innovative experimental bands in Croatia and wider area. They are heavily influenced by reggae, the British trip hop scene, electronic and experimental music. With years their built new style of music was named ping pong. Ping pong is a mixture of reggae, afro beat, hip hop, rap rock, alternative rock, dub and British trip hop. In 2017, former TBF member Nikola Čelan released ''Baština'' (''Legacy''), a book about the emergence of the hip hop scene in Split, as well as the forming years of TBF. Rap rock is a fusion genre that fuses vocal and instrumental elements of hip hop with various forms of rock. Dragan Lukić Lvky
Dragan Lukić Šegedin (born 3 March 1970) better known by his pseudonyms Lvky and Luky, is a Croatian singer, songwriter and music producer from Split. Luky became famous in the late 1990s as a producer for various young artists from Split, including the renowned rap band The Beat Fleet (TBF), which he was also a member of; he produced all their releases including their critically acclaimed album ''Maxon Universal''. In 2003 he started a solo career through his debut album ''Ararita'', using songs influenced by Dalmatian ethno music. He sometimes also cooperates with the klape vocal choirs. In October 2006 he released his second album ''V.I.T.R.I.O.L.'', which received good reviews from the critics and listeners. The album also earned Luky a Zlatna Koogla award as Best Producer. Perpetuum Fritule
''Perpetuum Fritule'' is the fifth album by the Croatian hip hop / rap rock band The Beat Fleet and their first live album. It was recorded at the ''Močvara'' club in Zagreb on 7 November 2009 and the album was released in July 2010. It was their first release for Dallas Records label, after they left Menart Records and signed for Dallas in 2009. The album's title is a humorous pun on the musical term '' Perpetuum mobile'' (literally meaning "perpetual motion"), in which the second word is replaced by '' fritule'' (also known as "fritula" in singular), a type of traditional sweet pastry popular in Dalmatia. In line with the pun, the album cover depicts a drawing of a fritula and the CD notes include a recipe for preparing ''fritule''.
