Gabriel Gustafson
Gabriel Adolf Gustafson (8August 185316April 1915) was a Swedish-Norwegian archaeologist. He was responsible for the excavation and conservation of the Oseberg Ship (''Osebergfunnet'') . Biography Gabriel Gustafson was born in Visby, in Gotland County, Sweden. Gustafson studied at the Uppsala University earning a degree in Archaeology (1871). He was a professor at Uppsala University (1875–89). Gustafson was employed by the University of Bergen as a conservator from 1889 to 1900. In 1900, following the death of Oluf Rygh, he was appointed manager of the University Museum of National Antiquities at University of Kristiania, (now University of Oslo) and professor of archaeology. Anders Hagen
Anders Hagen (15 May 1921 – 15 July 2005) was a Norwegian archaeologist. Hagen was most associated with the study of Norwegian archaeology and cultural heritage. He was a professor of Scandinavian Archaeology at University of Bergen and department head at the University Museum of Bergen. Biography He was born in Vang, in Hedmark county, Norway. He finished his secondary education in Hamar in 1941. He enrolled in archaeology at the University of Oslo, and graduated with the mag.art. degree in 1945. In 1953 he published his thesis, ', which earned him the dr.philos. degree in 1954. While in college, he worked as a conservator at the University of Oslo. In 1961 he was appointed as professor of Scandinavian Archaeology, University of Bergen. He also managed the department of cultural history at University Museum of Bergen. Tønsberg
Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Tønsberg. The city is the most populous metropolis in the district of Vestfold with a population of 52,419 in 2019.
