Gabby Provenzano
Gabriella Alyssa Provenzano (born August 7, 1999) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder or a center back for Portland Thorns FC in the National Women's Soccer League. Youth career Provenzano played youth soccer at Elite Clubs National League club Players Development Academy (PDA) from ages 8 to 18. One of her coaches at PDA was Mike O'Neill, who would later manage her at the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. She later played as a forward and an attacking midfielder for the soccer team of her high school, Hunterdon Central Regional High School. College career Provenzano played NCAA Division I women's soccer for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Having started as a defensive midfielder, Rutgers moved her to the center back role in her junior year. Portland Timbers
The Portland Timbers are an American professional men's soccer club based in Portland, Oregon. The Timbers compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The Timbers have played their home games at Providence Park since 2011, when the team began play as an expansion team in the league. The Florida State Seminoles women's soccer team represents Florida State University (variously Florida State or FSU) in the sport of college soccer. The Seminoles compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament was the 40th edition of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament, a postseason tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I women's college soccer. The College Cup was played on December 3 and December 6. It was originally set to be played in San Jose, California, but was moved to Stevens Stadium due to a conflict with the MLS playoffs schedule. The Florida State Seminoles defeated the BYU Cougars on penalty kicks to win the National Championship. Qualification The tournament returned to 64 teams after only featuring 48 teams in the 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
