GROW Vasu
Ayinoor Vasu (GROW Vasu) (born 1930) is a Human rights activist and trade unionist in Kerala, India. Life Mr. A. Vasu is also an environmental activist. He is well known for his bold stands in the fight for justice for Dalits, Tribals and minority communities. He was the first public figure in Kerala to take a stand against the arrest of Abdul Nazer Mahdani. He began working in the ''Commonwealth Trust Weaving Mill'' in Kozhikode at the age of 16 in 1946. He has participated in many social and human rights activities and got arrested many times. The leader of Ayinoor Vasu was one of the biggest labour movements in Kerala. In 2019 he signed a joint human right statement for the release of Student Activist Rinshad Reera . Personal life Grow Vasu was one of the forefront leaders in the Thirunelli Naxalite action in 1970 in which Varghese, a Naxalite leader was killed. Kerala
Kerala ( ; ) is a state on the Malabar Coast of India. Abdul Nazer Mahdani
Abdul Nasar Ma'dani, also known as Abdunnasir Ma'dani or Mahdani (born 18 January 1966), is a controversial person, Islamic cleric, and the leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Kerala, India. Mahdani was accused of involving in 1998 Coimbatore bombings, but was acquitted of all charges after spending nine and half years in Coimbatore Central Prison. He is currently under judicial custody at Karnataka in relation with the 2008 Bangalore serial blasts. Rinshad Reera
Muhammed Rinshad, known by the name Rinshad Reera, is a student activist from Government College, Malappuram. Activism In February 2019, Kerala police arrested Rinshad Reera and Faris for allegedly protesting against Sangh Parivar. Classmates claimed that they were condemning violence against Kashmiri students after the Pulwama terror attack which killed 49 CRPF personnel. Human rights organisations and Activists had taken a strong stand against the arrest of the students. They released a joint statement signed by the group of activists, lawyers, journalists demanding immediate release of the Student Activists. Arikkad Varghese
Arikkad Varghese ( ml, അരിക്കാട് വർഗീസ്, 14 June 1938 - 18 February 1970), popularly known as Saghavu Varghese (സഖാവ് വർഗീസ്), was an Indian CPIML leader, who fought mainly to protect the Adivasis in Wayanad from the exploitation of the feudal lords who were primarily members of political parties and the police system which then aided the exploitation, during the 1960s. Arikkad Varghese is especially notable in the history of Kerala, for being murdered by the police in a fake encounter, and the truth of this incident which remained unknown for 40 years. After 40 years, the very policeman who fired the shot revealed to the world that he had murdered him, and called for a trial. ''The New Indian Express'' is an Indian English-language broadsheet daily newspaper published by the Chennai-based Express Publications.
