Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. After a foul, timed play stops and the player fouled or designated to shoot a technical foul is given one, two or three one-point free throws. BC Borisfen, also known as Borisfen Mogilev (in Belarusian: ''Барысфэн Магілёў;'' in Russian: ''Борисфен Могилёв''), is a Belarusian basketball club based in Mogilev. It plays in the Belarusian Premier League and played in the European North Basketball League until it was suspended. History The club was established on 3 September 2010. The club was founded after BC Temp-OSHVSM disappeared from the highest Belarusian basketball league. In 2011, Borisfen played in the Belarusian Second League for one season. In the 2016–17 season, Borisfen made its debut in the Baltic Basketball League. Domestically, in 2018 and 2019, Borisfen finished as runners-up behind BC Tsmoki-Minsk. 2019–20 Belarusian Premier League (basketball)
The 2019–20 Belarusian Premier League season was the 28th season of the top tier basketball league in Belarus. The season started on 21 September 2019, the season was suspended after 14 March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A concluding Final Four tournament was organised in September 2020. Tsmoki-Minsk defended its title. Competition format Ten teams joined the regular season, that consisted in a four-legged round-robin competition, later dividing all the teams into two groups. The six teams of the Group A and the two best of the Group B joined the playoffs.
