GHA Coaches
GHA Coaches was a bus and coach operator serving North East Wales, Cheshire, and Shropshire. It also operated bus services extending into Telford & Wrekin, Staffordshire, Gwynedd, and Merseyside. GHA Coaches ceased trading after entering administration on 13 July 2016. Former GHA services are now operated by a variety of operators including Arriva North West, Lloyds Coaches, Stagecoach, High Peak and D&G Bus. History GHA Coaches was founded by Eifion Lloyd Davies in 1990 and was originally based in Corwen before moving to Ruabon in the mid-1990s. Irizar Century
The Irizar Century is a coach body manufactured by Irizar on Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Scania and Volvo chassis. It has many different bodystyles and are usually identified via the OBRA number on information plate next to the door. The Century model has been replaced by the Irizar i6 but given the continued popularity of the model, Irizar has continued production of the Century for several years. Ponciau
Ponciau is a village within the community of Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is close to the villages of Legacy, Pentre Bychan and Johnstown and is overlooked by Ruabon Mountain. The village name is also applied to a larger electoral ward, whose population at the 2011 Census was 4,842. Etymology The Welsh word ''ponc'', plural ''ponciau'', means "bank" or "hillock", and the village probably takes its name from the large number of spoil tips which formerly covered the area. Llangollen () is a town and community, situated on the River Dee, in Denbighshire, Wales. Southsea, Wrexham
Southsea ( cy, Glanrafon) is a formerly industrial village on the River Gwenfro in Broughton community, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The village came into being at the site of the Broughton Hall Brickworks and Plas Power Colliery. Its Welsh language placename (meaning "the bank of the river", ''glan yr afon'') derives from that of a farm. Its exotic-sounding English name, however, comes from the ''South Sea Inn'' which used to stand over the road from the brickworks, and in a room of which the brickworks pay was distributed. Stagecoach Group is a transport group based in Perth, Scotland. It operates buses, express coaches and a tram service in the United Kingdom. History Stagecoach was born out of deregulation of the British express coach market in the early 1980s, though its roots can be traced back to 1976 when Ann Gloag and her husband Robin Gloag set up a small recreational vehicle and minibus hire business called ''Gloagtrotter'' in Perth, Scotland. Lloyds Coaches operates bus and coach services in mid Wales. It is a small family-run independent firm. The company is based at the old Crosville bus depot opposite Machynlleth railway station. It was established in 2001. History Lloyds Coaches was formed in 2001 by former Crosville Motor Services and Arriva Buses Wales employee Wyn Lloyd. The company began operations from a site in Machynlleth, and acquired the former Crosville Motor Services garage in 2002. The garage was briefly shared with Arriva Buses Wales before the larger company moved away from the site.
