Gürsel Tekin (born 6 January 1964 in Ardahan, Turkey) is a Turkish politician of Kurdish descent and vice-president of Republican People's Party (Turkish: Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi, abbreviated CHP). Biography Gürsel Tekin was born in Ardahan, Turkey. Tekin received his high school diploma from Kars Alparslan Lisesi (Kars Alparslan High School). Then he studied Turkish Literature Faculty at Atatürk University but he did not continue to school because of economic problems. Then he came to Istanbul for his military service. Political career First he was the member of SODEP (Social Democracy Party) ( tr, Sosyal Demokrasi Partisi). Then SODEP fused with HP to become SHP. In 1995 SHP and CHP came together. In 1999 Tekin became vice-mayor of Kadıköy and also in 1999 and 2004 he entered in Istanbul Municipality Council. Then in 2007 he became the provincial CHP chairman of Istanbul Province. Gursel Veli
Gursel Veli ( bg, Гюрсел Вели tr, Veli Gürsel) (born 8 August 1982) is a Bulgarian people, Bulgarian football player of Turks in Bulgaria, Turkish origin, currently playing for F.C. Vereya, Vereya as a midfielder. Veli is an offensive midfielder. His first club was Maritsa Plovdiv. Between 2004 and 2006 he played for PFC Svetkavitsa and Spartak Plovdiv. Veli signed a 3 year deal with Lokomotiv Plovdiv after being released from Spartak Plovdiv in 2007. He was given the №10 shirt. Veli made his official debut for Lokomotiv in a match against Marek Dupnitsa that was held on 22 April 2007. He played for 23 minutes. Cemal Gürsel
Cemal Gürsel (; 13 October 1895 – 14 September 1966) was a Turkish army general who became the List of Presidents of Turkey, fourth President of Turkey after a coup. Early life He was born in the city of Erzurum as the son of an Ottoman Army officer, Abidin Bey, and the grandson of Ibrahim (1820–1895) and the great-grandson of Haci Ahmad (1790–1860). After the elementary school in Ordu Province, Ordu and the military middle school in Erzincan Province, Erzincan, he graduated from the Kuleli military high school in Istanbul. He was a popular figure and was therefore nicknamed "Cemal Ağa" (big brother Cemal) since his childhood school years and onwards all his life. Gürsel served in the Army for 45 years. During World War I, he participated in the Battle of Çanakkale in Dardanelles, Gallipoli as a lieutenant with the First Battery of the 12th Artillery Regiment in 1915 and received the War Medal.
