Gößnitz Station
Gößnitz station is a railway station on the Leipzig–Hof railway, the Glauchau–Gößnitz railway and the Gößnitz–Gera railway, Gößnitz–Gera (Mid-Germany Railway) in Gößnitz in the German state of Thuringia. The station was opened on 15 March 1844 with the Altenburg–Crimmitschau section by the Saxon-Bavarian Railway Company (''Sächsisch-Baiersche Eisenbahn-Compagnie''). History On 1 July 1841, work began on the construction of the Leipzig–Hof railway, the first section of which opened to Altenburg station, Altenburg on 19 September 1842. The section to Gößnitz and Crimmitschau station, Crimmitschau was opened to on 15 March 1844 and the rest of the line was opened on 15 July 1851. The first Gößnitz station building was a wooden building, which was replaced by a new building with the opening of the Glauchau–Gößnitz railway on 15 November 1858. The City Tunnel is a twin-bore railway tunnel for the city-centre S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland, S-Bahn in Leipzig. Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof is the main railway station in Chemnitz in Germany. Station building The station has a combination of terminating and through platforms. Platform tracks 5 to 9 terminate and tracks 1 to 4 and 10 to 14 continue to the west of Chemnitz towards Zwickau, Nuremberg and Göttingen. Tracks 11 to 14 are reached by a passenger subway. Glauchau (Sachs) Station
Glauchau station is the main station of Glauchau in southwest of the German state of Saxony on the Dresden–Werdau line. Glauchau also has another station at Glauchau-Schönbörnchen. History On 15 November 1858, the Chemnitz-Zwickau section of the Dresden–Werdau line was opened together with Glauchau station. The line was built the support of the Saxon government and eventually became part of the Royal Saxon State Railways. The station originally had seven 680 m-long station tracks with a total of 35 sets of points. With the opening of the Glauchau–Wurzen railway to Wurzen on 10 May 1875, the station was slightly expanded. Meerane station is a railway station on the Glauchau–Gößnitz railway. Meerane station is the only station in the town of Meerane in the German state of Saxony. The station is now served by Regionalbahn and Regional-Express services on the Mid-Germany Connection (''Mitte-Deutschland-Verbindung''). Freight transport facilities no longer exist. Werdau
Werdau () is a town in Germany, part of the Landkreis Zwickau in Saxony. It is situated on the river Pleiße, 8 km from Zwickau. The town was mentioned as early as 1304, and in 1398 it was purchased by Frederick, then margrave of Meissen, who afterwards became Elector of Saxony. The textile industry was the dominant industry in Werdau since the 14th century.
