Götz Alsmann (born 12 July 1957) is a German musician, singer and former television presenter. Biography Born in Münster, Alsmann studied German studies, music and communication studies at the University of Münster from 1977 to 1985. From 1980 to 1988, he played in the band ''Sentimental Pounders'' and has played for the ''Götz Alsmann Band'' since 1988. He is known in Germany as presenter of the TV programme ''Zimmer frei!'' along with Christine Westermann. Alsmann is married and has one son. Münchhausen Prize
The Münchhausen Prize was instituted in 1997, the 200th anniversary of the death of Baron von Münchhausen. It is awarded in May each year in Bodenwerder, the Baron's hometown, for special talent in the art of speaking or presentation, either in literature or the visual arts, fantasy and satire, in the sense of the Baron. "People Are People" is a song by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released on 12 March 1984 as the lead single from their fourth studio album, ''Some Great Reward'' (1984). Recorded at Hansa Mischraum in West Berlin, it was the band's first top-20 single in the United States, peaking at number 13 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Background As with many Depeche Mode songs, the band members see different meanings in "People Are People". According to Martin Gore, the song is about racism. Alan Wilder adds that it could also be about war. "People Are People" was written by Gore, but the dancy, pop feel of the song may be credited to Alan Wilder. Wilder wrote the B-side, "In Your Memory". Each song has an extended remix, the "Different Mix" and the "Slik Mix" respectively (although the "In Your Memory" mix is often incorrectly called the "Slick Mix" or "Silk Mix"). The Goldene Stimmgabel (English: Golden tuning fork, Tuning Fork) was an annual prize awarded within the Germany, German music scene from 1981 to 2007. The prizes were awarded according to the number of records sold from October of the previous year to June of the year of the award, as determined by Media Control GfK International, Media Control. It was established in 1981 by Dieter Thomas Heck, who hosted the television gala award show every year since then. It was broadcast on either ARD (broadcaster), ARD or ZDF until the year 2000. From 2001 to 2007 the award show was broadcast by ZDF alone. In 2008, ZDF decided not to present the award and did not announce whether they would be resumed later, discontinued, or replaced with another award. The award has not been held since (as of October 2019). Echo Music Prize (stylised as ECHO, ) was an accolade by the , an association of recording companies of Germany to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. The first ECHO Awards ceremony was held in 1992, and it was set up to honor musical accomplishments by performers for the year 1991, succeeding the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, which was awarded since 1963. Each year's winner was determined by the previous year's sales. In April 2018, following controversy regarding that year's ceremony, the Bundesverband Musikindustrie announced the end of the award.
