Joseph Görres
Johann Joseph Görres, since 1839 von Görres (25 January 1776 – 29 January 1848), was a German writer, philosopher, theologian, historian and journalist. Early life Görres was born in Koblenz. His father was moderately well off, and sent his son to a Latin college under the direction of the Jesuits. The young Görres' sympathies were initially with the French Revolution, and the French exiles in the Rhineland confirmed his beliefs, which would then evolve over time. Guido Görres (28 May 1805 – 14 July 1852) was a German Catholic historian, publicist and poet. Life and works Born in Koblenz, he was the son of Joseph Görres, and made his early classical studies in his native town. During his father's banishment he went to Aarau and Strasburg to pursue his education. Ida Friederike Görres (2 December 1901, in Schloss Ronsperg, Bohemia – 15 May 1971, in Frankfurt am Main), born Elisabeth Friederike, Reichsgräfin von Coudenhove-Kalergi, was a Catholic writer. From the Coudenhove-Kalergi family, she was the daughter, one of seven children, of Count Heinrich von Coudenhove-Kalergi and his Japanese wife Mitsuko Aoyama. Biography Early life Ida Friederike Görres was born on December 2, 1901 in western Bohemia on her family’s estate in Ronsperg (today called Poběžovice), where she grew up. She was the sixth of seven children, and her siblings included Richard Nikolaus Graf von Coudenhove-Kalergi, Gerolf Joseph Benedikt Maria Valentin Franz Coudenhove-Kalergi, and Elisabeth Maria Anna Coudenhove-Kalergi. Sascha Görres (born 27 February 1980) is a German former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Early career in Germany Born in Flensburg, Görres grew up playing in the youth system of German Verbandsliga Schleswig-Holstein-Nord-West (sixth tier) team ETSV Weiche, eventually graduating to play for the senior side in 1999 at the age of 19. He transferred to TSB Flensburg in 2002, and played 32 games for the team in the fifth-tier Schleswig-Holstein-Liga in 2002–03, while simultaneously studying at the University of Flensburg. College Görres transferred from the University of Flensburg to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in the United States in 2003 to study applied sciences and play on the college soccer team.
