Geraldin Rojas (born 6 July 1981) is a contemporary Argentine tango dancer, also known as Geraldin Rojas de Paludi. She started her career in 1988. She performed tango in the films ''Assassination Tango'', ''The Man Who Captured Eichmann'', and ''Je ne suis pas là pour être aimé''. At age 16 she ran away from home to be a tango dancer. Argentine tango is a musical genre and accompanying social dance originating at the end of the 19th century in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. It typically has a Time signature, or rhythmic time signature, and two or three parts repeating in patterns such as ABAB or ABCAC. Its lyrics are marked by ''nostalgia'', sadness, and laments for lost love. The Orquesta típica, typical orchestra has several melodic instruments and is given a distinctive air by the bandoneon. It has continued to grow in popularity and spread internationally, adding modern elements without replacing the older ones. Among its leading figures are the singer and songwriter Carlos Gardel and composers/performers Francisco Canaro, Juan D'Arienzo, Carlos di Sarli, Carlos Di Sarli, Osvaldo Pugliese, Elvira Santamaría, and Ástor Piazzolla. ''Assassination Tango'' is a 2002 American Crime thriller, crime thriller film written, produced, directed by, and starring Robert Duvall. Other actors include Rubén Blades, Kathy Baker and Duvall's Argentine wife, Luciana Pedraza. Francis Ford Coppola was one of the executive producers. The film centers on the life of a Professional assassin, hitman who travels to Argentina for a job, as well as his discovery of Argentine tango (dance), tango and his relationship with a woman living there.
