Gymnastics At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's Rhythmic Group All-around
The women's rhythmic group all-around competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics was held at the Rio Olympic Arena. The medals were presented by Alex Gilady, International Olympic Committee, IOC List of members of the International Olympic Committee, member, Israel, and the flowers presented by Slava Corn, Vice President of the International Federation of Gymnastics, FIG, Canada. Competition format The competition consisted of a qualification round and a final round. The top eight teams in the qualification round advance to the final round. In each round, the teams perform two routines (one with ribbons, one with clubs and hoops), with the scores added to give a total. Farmasi Arena is an indoor arena, indoor multipurpose arena, located in the region of Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is one of the indoor arena with largest capacity in the country, with 15,430 people for sports and up to 18,768 for concerts. The arena is named for the Turkish cosmetics company Farmasi through a naming rights deal closed in 2024. Priorly, the arena was sponsored by the American cosmetics company Jeunesse Global from 2017 to 2023, and British bank HSBC. The Women's rhythmic group all-around competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics were held at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre in Tokyo, Japan, with the qualification taking place at 7 August and the final on 8 August.
