Gymnastics At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Rhythmic Group All-around
The Women's rhythmic group all-around competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics were held at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre in Tokyo, Japan, with the qualification taking place at 7 August and the final on 8 August. Russian rhythmic gymnasts were the five-time defending champions in the event. Competition format The competition consisted of a qualification round and a final round. The top eight teams in the qualification round advance to the final round. In each round, the teams perform two routines (one with 5 balls, one with 3 hoops and 2 pairs of clubs), with the scores added to give a total. Ariake Gymnastics Centre
The Ariake GYM-EX, formerly known as the Ariake Gymnastics Centre, is an exhibition hall and former sports arena located in the Ariake district of Tokyo, Japan. Opened in October 2019, the venue was originally constructed to host the gymnastics events at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the boccia events at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Following the Olympics, the venue was redeveloped by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government into an exhibition hall, renamed the Ariake GYM-EX, with the intention of promoting smaller Tokyo-area businesses. Gymnastics At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Women's Rhythmic Group All-around
Gymnastics at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will be contested in three categories: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. The artistic (27 July to 5 August) and trampoline (2 August) events will occur at the Bercy Arena, with the rhythmic events staging at Porte de La Chapelle Arena from 8 to 10 August. Qualification The qualification pathway for the 2024 Summer Olympics is significantly simplified and modified from those in 2020. In the artistic team event, a maximum of five gymnasts will be eligible to participate as opposed to the four per team and two individuals who competed in Tokyo 2020. Three teams who finish on the podium qualify for the Olympics through the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool with a large proportion of quota places distributed at the same meet in Antwerp, Belgium by the following year. Xu Yanshu (born 14 July 1998) is a Chinese rhythmic gymnast.
