Løvstakken Tunnel
The Løvstakken Tunnel ( no, Løvstakktunnelen) is a road tunnel in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The tunnel connects the Fyllingsdalen area with the eastern part of the borough of Laksevåg and the city centre. It was built in 1968 to improve connectivity with the newly developed area. The tunnel had an average daily traffic of 17,015 vehicles in 2007, down from 17,702 vehicles in 2000. The tunnel is long. In 2002, a safety study by the German company Deutsche Technologie found serious shortcomings in the tunnel's safety, and among 30 European tunnels studied, the tunnel was ranked in 27th place. Odd Frantzen (20 January 1913 – 2 October 1977) was a Norwegian football outside right player from Bergen who played for SK Hardy. He was capped 20 times for Norway, and scored five international goals. He was a member of Norway's 1936 Summer Olympics bronze medal team, beating Germany 2-0 in the quarter finals, and played in the 1938 World Cup. Bergen Fire Of 1916
The Bergen fire of 1916 was an urban fire that took place on January 15 and 16, 1916 and burned many of the buildings in Bergen, Norway. Except for the buildings on ''Rådstuplassen'' (City Hall Square), all of the buildings in Bergen's center district were destroyed in the fire. Chronology and damage At five pm on Saturday, January 15, 1916, some workers were taking inventory of stock for the Berstad scrap-iron dealer in a shed at ''Murallmenningen'' (Mur Commons). There was a strong storm outside with hurricane-force gusts. One of the workers accidentally ignited a ball of black oakum with a light. He opened the door to throw it into the sea. There was a gust of wind, and soon the entire shed was burning. The wind quickly spread the fire inward along ''Strandgaten'' towards ''Torget'' (Market Square), and the warehouses burned like tinder. Møhlenpris (formerly Vestre Sydnes) is a neighbourhood in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is next to the Puddefjorden in the borough of Bergenhus. The neighbourhood is named after Jørgen Thor Møhlen, who was a shipowner, slave trader, innovator and businessman who established some industry at Møhlenpris in the late 17th century. Most of the buildings date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Puddefjord Bridge
The Puddefjord Bridge ( no, Puddefjordsbroen) is an arch bridge in Bergen, Norway. The reinforced concrete bridge consists of two directly adjacent, near-identical bridges, the first of which was built in 1956 and the second in 1999. Norwegian National Road RV 555 crosses Puddefjord bridge over Damsgårdssundet into the tunnels Løvstakk tunnel (''Løvstakktunnelen'') to Fyllingsdalen and Damsgårds tunnel (''Damsgårdstunnelen'') to Laksevåg. The bridge carries six lanes of motor vehicles and two cycle/footpaths across the Puddefjorden in central Bergen, between Møhlenpris in the city centre and Gyldenpris in Årstad borough.
