Gwyn Davies (cricketer)
Gwyn Llewelyn Davies (10 June 1919 – 1 April 1995) was a Welsh cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler who played first-class cricket for Glamorgan. He was born in Cathays and died in Stockport. A regular club cricketer for Cardiff, Davies appeared for Glamorgan Colts and second XI sides prior to the Second World War but his first-class career was disrupted by the war during which he served in the Royal Engineers. He made two appearances for Glamorgan, one each in 1947 and 1948, both times against Lancashire. Between 1948 and 1950 Davies played Minor Counties cricket for the county second XI. Davies also played rugby, making appearances at full back for Cardiff RFC Cardiff Rugby Football Club ( cy, Clwb Rygbi Caerdydd) is a rugby union club based in Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. Eiryn Gwyne "Gwyn" Davies (23 June 1908  – 14 July 1992) was a Welsh dual-code international rugby union and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s and 1930s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Cardiff RFC, as a wing, i.e. number 11 or 14, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Great Britain (non-Test matches), and Wales, and at club level for Wigan, as a , i.e. number 3 or 5. Background Davies was born in Aberkenfig, Wales, he died aged 84 in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. Playing career International honours Gwyn Davies won 3 caps for Wales (RU) in 1932–1935 while at Cardiff RFC in 1928 against France, in 1929 against England, and in 1930 against Scotland, and won 3 caps, all against England, for Wales (RL) while at Wigan.
