Guðný Björk Óðinsdóttir
Guðný Björk Óðinsdóttir (born 27 September 1988) is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a midfielder for Kristianstads DFF of the Swedish Damallsvenskan and the Iceland women's national football team. She represented her country in the 2009 and 2013 editions of the UEFA Women's Championship. Guðný made her senior international debut for Iceland in a 3–0 win over Portugal at the Laugardalsvöllur Arena in June 2006. At UEFA Women's Euro 2009, Guðný was included in the squad but did not play in any of the matches as Iceland were eliminated in the first round. At the 2013 European Championships in Sweden, Guðný suffered the fourth anterior cruciate ligament injury of her career at the age of 24. While preparing for another surgery she insisted that she had no intention of retiring. Guðný made another comeback, but injuries eventually forced her into retirement at the age of 26 in May 2015. Iceland Women's National Football Team
The Iceland women's national football team represents Iceland in international women's football. They are currently ranked as the 17th best women's national team in the world by FIFA as of December 2019. On 30 October 2008, the national team qualified to the 2009 UEFA Women's Championship, the first major football tournament Iceland ever took part in, having previously competed in the 1995 UEFA Women's Championship which was a home and away knockout competition. At the 2013 UEFA Women's Championship, they took their first point in a major championship, following a draw against Norway in the opening game. An anterior cruciate ligament injury occurs when the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is either stretched, partially torn, or completely torn. The most common injury is a complete tear. The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan.
