Guy Molloy
Guy Molloy (born 4 November 1965) is an Australian basketball coach, who is currently the head coach of the Southland Sharks in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL). Coaching career WNBL Molloy began his coaching career as head coach of the Canberra Capitals for the 1989 WNBL season. Between 1993 to 1996 he served as head coach of the Perth Breakers. The Breakers reached the finals in all four of Molloy's seasons, including reaching the 1993 Grand Final. In 1995, Molloy was named the WNBL Coach of the Year. In 2013, Molloy returned to the WNBL, as head coach of the newly branded Melbourne Boomers. In his first season back, after leading the Boomers to the semi-finals, he was named the WNBL Coach of the Year for the second time. National Basketball League (New Zealand)
The National Basketball League (NBL) is a men's semi-professional basketball league in New Zealand. 2017 FIBA Asia Women's Cup
The 2017 FIBA Women's Asia Cup was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia and FIBA Oceania at the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain. The tournament was held from 23 to 29 July in Bangalore, India. Before this edition, the tournament was known as the FIBA Asia Championship for Women, and only involved FIBA Asia members. Dante Exum
Dante Exum (born 13 July 1995) is an Australian professional basketball player for Partizan of the ABA League and the EuroLeague. He chose to bypass college and was ultimately selected by the Utah Jazz with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft. Exum competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as part of the Australian men's basketball team. In the bronze playoff, he scored or assisted on 13 of Australia's points in the pivotal 20-8 run that turned a five-point lead into a 17-point advantage (105-88) with just over a minute remaining. The 1994 FIBA Women's World Championship was the 12th edition of the FIBA Women's World Championship, an quadrennial international tournament played by women's basketball teams in FIBA. It was hosted in Australia from 2 to 12 June 1994 at five venues with the Sydney Entertainment Centre hosting the finals. The tournament consisted of 16 nations from five federations who competed through the regional qualifiers to get to the tournament. 2021–22 WNBL Season
The 2021–22 WNBL season is the 42nd season of the competition since its establishment in 1981. The Southside Flyers were the defending champions, however they failed to qualify for finals. The Melbourne Boomers won their second championship, defeating Perth in the Grand Final series, 2–1. After the 2020 season was condensed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was confirmed in July 2021 that the upcoming season is set to be closer to the traditional season fixture played over several months across the summer.
