Guy McCoy Tormé
Guy McCoy Tormé (also known by its initials, GMT) is a British rock band, formed by Robin Guy and former Gillan members John McCoy and Bernie Tormé. Career In 2005, Bernie Tormé and John McCoy are reunited again with the idea form a new band, taking advantage by the successful sales of the Gillan material published for Angel Air Records between 1997 and 2000. By 2006, with the release of Gillan's ''Live Edinburgh 1980'' DVD, an extra videoclip from the song "Cannonball" made by GMT marked the start of the group, follow for the debut three-track EP ''Cannonball'' published on 21 August 2006. In 2007, GMT toured widely by the UK, performing at RBCS 2007 Rock and Blues Festival, in Pentrich. The next year, GMT released on 17 November ''Evil Twin'', their first full album, with Dee Snider as guest. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. Gillan was an English rock and metal band formed in 1978 by Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillan. Gillan was one of the hard rock bands to make a significant impact and commercial success in the United Kingdom during the early 1980s, with five silver albums. They sold over 10 million LPs worldwide. A mammoth is any species of the extinct elephantid genus ''Mammuthus.'' The various species of mammoth were commonly equipped with long, curved tusks. John McCoy (musician)
John Matthew McCoy (born 9 March 1950, in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England), is an English bass guitarist, who is best known for his work with Ian Gillan and ''Mammoth'' as well as numerous other bands and sessions since the late 1960s. He also played in British rock trio Guy McCoy Tormé with former Gillan/ Ozzy guitarist Bernie Tormé and Bruce Dickinson/Sack Trick drummer Robin Guy. He is also an accomplished guitar, drum, trumpet, cello, and double bass player. Nearly as well known as his music is his appearance: he is always pictured wearing sunglasses, with the striking contrast of bald head and robust chin beard. Along with guitarist Vic Elmes and ZZebra colleague Liam Genockey on drums, McCoy can also be heard playing in the intro and end titles theme of the 1970s cult TV series '' Space: 1999''. Bernie Tormé
Bernie Tormé (born Bernard Joseph Tormey; 18 March 1952 – 17 March 2019) was an Irish rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, record label and recording studio owner. Tormé is best known for his work with Gillan, as well as his brief stints with Ozzy Osbourne. He also wrote and recorded with Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider and toured with Atomic Rooster. Early career The Ranelagh-born Tormé was inspired by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher, and Gary Moore. He formed his first band at a young age.
