Guy James Mangano
Guy James Mangano (born January 14, 1930) is an American lawyer and politician from New York. Life He was born on January 14, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York City, the son of Assemblyman James V. Mangano (1905–1988) and Rose (Mancaruso) Mangano. He attended the public schools in Brooklyn, Poly Preparatory School, Carson-Long Military Academy and Fordham University. He graduated from St. John's University School of Law in 1955. He entered politics as a Democrat, and became investigator and counsel to legislative committees. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (Kings Co., 8th D.) from 1959 to 1962, sitting in the 172nd and 173rd New York State Legislatures; and a member of the New York State Senate from 1963 to 1965, sitting in the 174th and 175th New York State Legislatures. New York Supreme Court
The Supreme Court of the State of New York is the trial-level court of general jurisdiction in the New York State Unified Court System. (Its Appellate Division is also the highest intermediate appellate court.) It is vested with unlimited civil and criminal jurisdiction, although in many counties outside New York City it acts primarily as a court of civil jurisdiction, with most criminal matters handled in County Court. The court is radically different from its counterparts in nearly all other states in that the Supreme Court is a trial court and is not the highest court in the state.
