Guy Vernor Henry
Guy Vernor Henry (March 9, 1839 – October 27, 1899) was an American military officer and Medal of Honor recipient who served as military governor of Puerto Rico. Biography Henry was born in Fort Smith, Indian Territory (now Arkansas), the son of William Seton Henry and Arietta Livingston Thompson Henry. His mother was the granddaughter of Vice President Daniel D. Tompkins and Secretary of the Navy and Supreme Court Justice Smith Thompson. He was a fifth great-grandson of Robert Livingston. William Seton Henry (1816–1851) was an 1835 graduate of the United States Military Academy, and attained the rank of Brevet Major for his service in the Mexican–American War. Guy V. Henry graduated from the United States Military Academy in May 1861, serving as a Union officer in the Civil War, and later in conflicts against the Native Americans in the West and southwest of the United States of America. Guy Henry (equestrian)
Major General Guy Vernor Henry Jr. (January 28, 1875 – November 29, 1967) was a senior officer in the United States Army and a noted horse rider who competed for the United States in the 1912 Summer Olympics. Early life Guy V. Henry, Jr. was born into the military life. Son of Guy Vernor Henry, he went on to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1898, and distinguished his military career by earning the Silver Star in 1899 during the Spanish–American War. Henry went on to study at the French Cavalry School in Saumur and used the knowledge he gained there to change the treatment and training of United States Cavalry horses. This included starting horses not by "breaking" them using the traditional western methods, but by training them on the longe, then slowly teaching them to accept the weight of a human on their back. Guy Henry (born 17 October 1960) is an English actor whose roles include Henrik Hanssen in ''Holby City'', Pius Thicknesse in ''Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1'' and '' Part 2'', Gaius Cassius Longinus in ''Rome'' and Grand Moff Tarkin in ''Rogue One''. Early life and career Henry was born on 17 October 1960 in London. He attended Homefield School and then Brockenhurst College in Hampshire where he took A levels. He trained at RADA (1979–81). In 1982, he took the title role in ITV's ''Young Sherlock Holmes'' series, playing Holmes as a teenager (though Henry was by then nearly 22). In February 2015, Henry was announced as a public supporter of Chapel Lane Theatre Company based in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
