Guty Espadas Jr.
Gustavo Espinosa Espadas Jr. (born September 2, 1974 in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico) is a Mexican former professional boxer in the Featherweight division. He is the former WBC Featherweight Champion and the son of former WBA Flyweight Champion, Guty Espadas. Professional career Espadas Jr. turned professional in 1992. WBC Featherweight Championship In 2000 won the Vacant WBC Featherweight Championship by winning a technical decision over Luisito Espinosa in the 11th round. He defended the belt once before losing a close decision to Erik Morales in 2001. In 2003 he rematched Morales but was knocked out in the 3rd round. He announced his retirement after sustaining a 2nd round knockout loss to Rocky Juarez in 2004, only to come out of it in 2007 by beating Moises Perez twice in the same year. Light welterweight, also known as junior welterweight or super lightweight, is a weight class in combat sports. Boxing Professional boxing In professional boxing, light welterweight is contested between the lightweight and welterweight divisions, in which boxers weigh above 61.2kg or 135 pounds and up to 63.5 kg or 140 pounds. The first champion of this weight class was Pinky Mitchell in 1946, though he was only awarded his championship by a vote of the readers of the ''Boxing Blade'' magazine. There was not widespread acceptance of this new weight division in its early years, and the New York State Athletic Commission withdrew recognition of it in 1930. Rocky Juarez
Ricardo "Rocky" Juárez (born April 15, 1980) is an American former professional boxer. He is a former WBC Silver featherweight champion and a multiple-time world title challenger. Juarez was known over his career for his aggressive fighting style and incredible durability; in 11 defeats he was never stopped. Amateur career Juarez had a lustrous amateur career with a 145–17 record, which included a 68 fight winning streak, a Featherweight Olympic silver medal and a Junior Olympic World and National gold medal. In 1999 he won the world title at the 1999 World Amateur Boxing Championships in his home town. During the 2000 Olympics Gold medal round, Juarez loss controversially against Bekzat Sattarkhanov who was warned several times for holding and not penalized.
