Gutte Eriksen
Gudrum "Gutte" Agnete Tryde Eriksen (20 November 1918 – 8 July 2008) was a Danish ceramist whose works were influenced by the years she spent in Japan studying Asian techniques. It is above all the specially produced glaze which is the distinguishing feature of her undecorated pottery. As a result of both her work and her teaching, she has exerted considerable influence on Danish potters. Biography Born in Rødby on 20 November 1918, Gudrum Agnete Tryde Eriksen was the daughter of the parish priest Erik Eriksen (1870–1947) and Louise Tryde (1876–1966). From 1936, she attended the School of Arts and Crafts where she specialized in ceramics, graduating in 1939. While still studying, she exhibited at the Charlottenborg autumn exhibition in 1938, inspired by old artefacts she had seen in the National Museum. Tagea Brandt Rejselegat
The Tagea Brandts ''Rejselegat'' (Travel Scholarship) is a Danish award to women who have made a significant contribution in science, literature or art. The grant, which is given without application, was created and endowed by Danish industrialist Vilhelm Brandt (1854–1921) in 1905 in honor of his wife, Tagea Brandt. It is awarded annually on 17 March, her birthday. The charter of 1922 provides that it shall be given to outstanding women in science, art, music, literature and theater arts (particularly in this case to actresses at the Royal Danish Theatre). The intent is for the awardee to both broaden her horizons while promoting Danish society abroad, and to benefit from vacation and rest time. Vejen Art Museum
Vejen Art Museum ( da, Vejen Kunstmuseum) is an art gallery in Vejen Municipality in the south of Jutland, Denmark. It specializes in works from the end of the 19th century in styles including Symbolism (arts), Symbolism and Art Nouveau. Created in 1924 to house the works of sculptor and ceramist Niels Hansen Jacobsen (1861–1941), it also displays works by Einar August Nielsen (1872–1956) Jens Lund (1871–1924), Thorvald Bindesbøll (1846–1908), Harald Slott-Møller (1864-1937) and many others. The original museum building was designed by the local builder, Niels Ebbesen Grue (1879-1937). The museum has been expanded several times, the first time in 1938 and again in 1959.
