Gutavallen
Gutavallen is an outdoor stadium, sport stadium located in Visby, Sweden. It was opened on 27 May 1927 and is used for association football, football as well as athletics (sport), athletics, but occasionally the arena is also used for concerts. Gutavallen is the home arena of FC Gute and Visby AIK. The stadium has two stands—one on each long side—with the main stand seating 550 spectators. The original main stand was burned down in 1998, but was quickly rebuilt the following year. Gutavallen has a total spectator capacity of 5,000 – this is also the record which was set on April 1, 1995, when the football club then named FC Gute, Visby IF Gute took on the Allsvenskan team IFK Göteborg in a game at the 1994–95 Svenska Cupen which the away team Göteborg won 4–0. FC Gute, previously named ''Visby IF Gute'', is a Swedish football club located in Visby on the island of Gotland. They currently play in the fourth-tier league Division 2 Norra Svealand. Background The club was formed in 1904 as ''Visby IF Gute'', and in November 2007 changed name to the present name FC Gute. Visby AIK is a Swedish football club located in Visby on the island of Gotland. Background Visby AIK currently plays in Division 4 Gotland, sometimes called "Gotlandsfyran", which is the sixth tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Gutavallen arena in Visby. The club is affiliated to Gotlands Fotbollförbund. 2017 Island Games
The XVII Island Games (also known as the ''2017 NatWest Island Games'' for sponsorship reasons) was held in Gotland, Sweden, from 24 June to 30 June 2017. This was the second time that the island has hosted the games, the first being in 1999. Participating islands 23 island entities of the IIGA, from Europe, South Atlantic and the Caribbean area, competed in these Games. The Sweden national football team ( sv, svenska fotbollslandslaget) represents Sweden in men's international football and it is controlled by the Swedish Football Association, the governing body of football in Sweden.
